“Do you have any missing persons on the books who might have been hitchhiking when they disappeared?” Brent asked his uncle, late the next morning.
“Why do you want to know?” Detective Norman Collins replied. He looked at Brent with a mixture of interest and ‘Do you think I’ll really answer?’ in his expression.
Brent and Quinn decided that while Brent was talking to his uncle, Quinn would see if he could find out anything at the restaurant where Andrew worked, rather than them both going to the precinct. They knew things might go marginally smoother if Brent’s uncle wasn’t faced with the evidence that Brent had actually married a man.
