Chapter 8 Quinn and Brent spent most of Tuesday working on the jobs they were handling for the agency, talking to clients—old and new—and otherwise doing what they always did when it came to keeping their business running. The same held true for the next two days, but all the while Quinn mulled over the problem of how he could prove that River was behind the hitchhiker murders. As he’d said he would, Brent called Hardin the first thing Tuesday morning to tell him their thoughts on River. The detective hadn’t exactly pooh-poohed the idea, but Brent told Quinn it was obvious Hardin thought they were grasping at straws. By Thursday afternoon, Quinn had come up with a plan. One he was almost afraid to broach to Brent, knowing his husband would not be happy. He was right about that, and then
