“Do you even want to be Alpha?” Peter asks as we walk along the edge of the border that he’s giving to my pack. Well, I guess it’s Seth giving it to us. Honestly, it’s probably just the Queen.
“No,” I tell him simply. “As soon as things cool down and it’s safe, I’ll step down and name someone else Alpha. They need me right now, though.”
He nods, looking down at a gps, and continues on his way. “And your Beta?”
“Haven’t got one,” I tell him. “I’ve been acting as Lucas’ Beta. No matter what he says, I haven’t been running anything out here, he has.”
