I killed someone. It’s all I can think about as I lay in the bed. Tyler nurses and my mom has attempted to ask me a few questions, but I don’t think I can handle answering her.
I know she called Lily, probably as shocked that I was able to use my magic while shifted as I am. I didn’t know I could. I didn’t mean to kill anyone.
They’re gone, though. The person attempting to hurt my family is lying dead under a tree branch, unable to attack any longer. Closing my eyes, I breathe a sigh of relief.
“I’m supposed to go see Sophia today,” I tell my mom softly.
Her head snaps to me, clearly shocked at what I’m saying. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” I tell her, running my finger down Tyler’s chubby cheek. “I asked her if I could try to take human birth control.”
