I was in the office going through some patient's files. I checked the time and realized it's about time for lunch.
And also, I'll switch rounds with Suzy, one of the nurses tonight because she is on night duty.
I emerged from the office, the muted hum of the hospital filled the air. As I strode down the corridor, I noticed two familiar figures engaged in a conversation with a nurse.
I walked towards them and the nurse greeted, “Morning Doctor Amelia.” I nodded to the nurse and muttered politely before the gentlemen turned and glared at me. “Excuse me, is there something I can help you with?”
As the strangers turned toward me, I was taken aback, recognizing Jeff and Josh from the pack, the shock momentarily freezes my expression.
