As we all silently left Mimi’s house and were a safe distance away, Mylee spoke first “Mal, calm down, it isn’t you and Rae! It’s not like you have silver running through your veins!”
Mylee just stared at me, waiting for me to say something, but I said nothing, unable to bring myself to tell her the truth. Mattie filled the silence. “I think we should get Marley here.”
I nodded, words not quite forming yet. He was with us within minutes. I don’t know what Mattie had said to him, but whatever it was, he had dropped everything to rush here.
