Hours after the house was all out together with the most beautiful decorations, the twins and my grandmother were sitting at the island, drinking some hot cocoa. The twins looked exhausted from working all morning. They never done this much work when it was just us doing it. But nana sure got them.
I went over to the coffee pot and refilled my cup before turning around and looking at them. I smirked at them as I took a sip. Mary looked at my with her lip all poking out like ; “Daddy save me!” I shook my head and she looked at her brother then nana. My grandma looked at me before getting up.
“So what else should we do?” She asked as she put her arm around my shoulder.
“Hmm, how about lunch?” I asked her.
“Yeah, I could whip up some chicken noodle soup and garlic bread to warm us up more.” She offered.
“Ooouuu, your famous chicken noodle soup and garlic bread, yay!” Mary said all excited.
“Oh boy, call for me when it’s done. I’m gonna go take a nap.” Oliver said jumping off the stool and heading towards the stairs.
“Okay, go take your nap then. Your sister can help me cook some gingerbread cookies and chocolate chip cookies."
Oliver stopped for a moment, like he wanted to turn around to help make those cookies but took that step to go on with what he was doing. I chuckled some.
“I’d help but I have a pack to run.” I said as I put my cup in the sink and gave them a kiss on their foreheads before walking out the back door.
As I got to business with the pack my day had went by fast. By the time I went back to the house it was 2pm. My mates were in there eating lunch with the kids and my grandmother. My delta was just making himself a bowl when I went over to my mates to give them each a kiss on the lips.
“Good afternoon, Stefan?”
“Same to you alpha?” He had said as he sat down across from Phil. “The warriors are getting better and better with the new moves that we came up with.”
“That’s good. Where’s your brother?”
“Ummm, I don’t know to be honest. I haven’t seen him all morning. He even missed practice and the run that he assigned for the guards.” He said then he tried to link him. “He’s not even answering the link either. Which is weird because he always answers me.”
“Maybe he’s busy doing something?” Bailey said taking her last bite of her bread.
“True,” I said as I walked over to the stove. “Damon!” I called out loud enough for the whole pack house to hear. “Nana, made her famous soup. Better get your ass here to get some, before it’s all gone!”
I waited about 5 minutes, to eat some of my soup before I had to call his name again. And when I did it again, he finally came running down the stairs and sliding into the kitchen. His hair was a mess, his clothes were all twisted around like he was just doing something.
“Sorry, I had my pack link off. What did I miss?” He asked as he came over to the cabinet to get a bowl.
“Umm, everything.” Stefan had said as he went to get seconds. “You missed your own assignment that you ordered the guard.”
“Are you feeling okay?” Bailey asked getting up and touching his forehead. I growled some. She looked at me. “Stop that.” She scolded me.
“I’m fine, thank you for asking.” Damon said moving away from her. “I was just busy.”
“Busy doing what?” The twins asked just as one of the omegas came walking in trying to fix her clothes.
“Ruby?” Bailey said.
“Yes, Luna?” She answered her while bowing her head at us.
“Umm, shouldn’t you be taking care of the afternoon chores right about now?” She asked her.
“Yes, Luna. Sorry, I got distracted.”
“What distracted you?” Mary had asked until Oliver had covered her mouth.
“What’s going on with you two?” I had asked as I was looking at both Damon and Ruby. “Are you two-?” I started to say but didn’t finish because of the twins. “Twins, put your dishes in the sink and go to your room.” I told them.
“But I ain’t done. I wanted more.” Mary whined.
“I don’t care, move it, now!” I ordered.
Oliver grabbed his and his sister’s dishes put them in the sink then ran back over to his sister and ran with her behind him up the stairs.
“Better not be staying on the stairs either.” Phil had called out to them.
After he said that we heard their bedroom doors open then closed. Phil waited for a few seconds then got up and walked to the archway and looked around the corner to make sure that they were in their rooms. Once Phil saw that the twins were in their rooms, he turned around and looked at the rest of us and nodded his head that we were in the clear.
“Now explain.” Bailey asked.
“We’ve been hooking up for awhile. We wasn’t expecting anyone to be around the house right now but when I heard Devin yell for me I just knew that y’all were here and I was fucked.” He said chuckling a little.
“How long is awhile?” Stefan asked.
“About a few years now.”
“Really and I’m your brother and you didn’t tell me?”
“Sorry brother.”
“Why would you hide it in the 1st place.” my grandmother asked. “Like we would care who you screwed.” She said before walking over to the stove to put the food up into bowels. “Here eat up both of you. Even though you’re an omega and have some chores to do,” she said as she looked over at Bailey. “As long as you’re with the delta you’re part of the family. So welcome.”
“Don’t push it, you still have chores to do.”
“Actually, she doesn’t.” Phil said. “Whom ever is dating or with the alpha, beta, delta, or gammas, even if they’re omegas, they stop what they’re doing and help out with whom they’re with. So since Damon is the delta, she helps him with being in charge while one of us gone.”
“It’s just a hook up y’all. We’re not even dating.” Ruby had said.
“Yeah,” Damon said. “It’s just a booty call.”
“God, Damon. What is you find your mate?” My grandmother said.
“I have found her, but we went our ways. She fell in love with a human and had his kids.” Damon said.
“Wait, again I’m your brother when was this?”
“The same year that we found Devin.”
“Almost 12 years ago?” I had said. “Why didn’t you say anything?” I asked.
“Well I was busy helping you with the pack and we just got you back. I didn’t want to bother you with it.”
“Did y’all reject each other?” I asked him.
“Yeah, she rejected me right away. She lives in town with him and their kids. But it’s fine. I’m almost in my 40’s, I don’t need to worry about having a mate. And Ruby and I talked about this. If she found hers or I find my 2nd chance mate we’ll stop seeing each other.”
“Yeah, we agreed to this. There’s no need for anything different for us.”
“No, I’m not liking this.” Bailey said. “Do you guys have any feelings for each other?” She asked them. “Ruby, do you like Damon more then just what your doing?”
“Like do I love him?” Ruby said. “Yeah, I’ve always had a crush on him since I was little.” She had said.
“You did?” Damon asked.
“Yes, since I was 13. I know the age thing is a big difference but I don’t care. To be honest, all I want for Christmas is you.” Ruby told him.
“All I want for Christmas is you.” Damon said repeating what she had said about him.
“There that calls it.” My nana Liv had said. “All Devin has to do is vow y’all in as mates.”
“What? Since when did I have to do that?”
“Since you’re the alpha king. And he’s your back up.”
“Wel Ruby, are you willingly giving up your old life for your new life to be with Damon?” I asked. “Are you willing to be the female delta and help him with all his duties with the guards and warriors. For an omega you’re giving up a lot and becoming stronger than you were, are you willing to change all of that by this vow?” I asked her.
“Yes, alpha. I’d do anything for the delta. I vow to take care of him and help him with his duties. I take full responsibility for everything.” Ruby said.
“Phil, hand me the knife?” I asked him right as he went to hand it to me. “How did you know?” I was gonna ask.
“I had a feeling.” Phil said.
I nodded then walked over to both Ruby and Damon. I cut both their hands and they grabbed each other’s hands as I re-spoke the words all over again. As I done that, I felt a surge of power forming between them into the pack. All her omega powers gone and formed into delta powers. The color of her eyes had changed from her wolfs eyes to another shade then back to her human colored eyes.
“Now y’all are mates. Don’t make me regret this.”
“We won’t alpha.” They said together.
“Ruby, why don’t get your stuff and move it into my room.” Damon said.
“Are you sure? I don’t want to rush this.”
“No, it’s fine. This pack house is as much as your house now.” Phil had told her. “Damon go help her. And I expect y’all to return back to your duties tomorrow. I’m giving y’all the day off for today.” I added.
They nodded then bowed their heads before walking out the back door. I smiled at Phil and Bailey thinking when that had happened to us, all those years ago. This was or is a Christmas miracle after all.
And that’s basically what all I want for Christmas is my pack to be ready for anything, to be better not just for the pack but for themselves.
