Misunderstanding

Dranz

  It’s Monday again.

  I wouldn’t want for the weekend to pass but we had no choice but to return to reality. Done was our magical weekend together. I know it might sound cheesy, especially coming from the Ice Prince but I cannot help it. I am totally a lovesick puppy right now.

  When I went down for breakfast, I sense their eyes on me immediately.

“Buongiorno papà!”  I greeted dad.

(good morning dad)

“Bonjour mamam ! » I greeted mom.

(Good morning mom)

 ‘’And good morning to you little bro.’’I greeted Eirick.

  I grinned at them and seat on my spot. I began eating my breakfast as they gaped at me.

“Um Dranz, mio figlio..” I heard dad called.

(My son)

  I looked at dad, and noticed that they are all looking at me.

“Yes dad?” I asked.

“Are you alright?” He asked me.

  I grinned, and nodded.

“Where the hell did you go? And what’s up with you and that Spanish heiress?” Eirick asked.

  I grinned at him.

“She’s my girlfriend.” I answered and went back to eating my breakfast.

“Wow! Since when? Why wasn’t I even aware?” I heard mom asked.

  I took a sip of my coffee before looking back at my mom.

“It just happened mom. She’s kind of a unique person, that I just fell for her.” I answered.

  Mom cooed and dad smiled at me.

“If that’s the case then, I am happy for you.” Mom said.

“Take care of her Dranz. If what you said was true, that she’s a unique person, then don’t let her slipped out of your hands.” Dad said.

  I smiled at them.

“I will.” I said then I turned to my brother.

“Do you have anything to say little bro? Staring is rude you know.” I said.

“You’re being creepy. You’re smiling and I feel like you’re turning to Pennywise or something.” Eirick said, and I chuckled at him ruffling his hair.

“You’re a dork.” I said, and ate my breakfast.

  After I ate breakfast, I went to school. I have a meeting with my professor regarding my feasibility studies. So far after the meeting, everything is good and I am sure that I’ll be graduating soon.

  While I was walking towards the school cafe, I pulled out my phone and called Max. She answered on the second ring.

“Hi.” I heard her greet from the other line.

“Hi. How are you?” I asked.

“I’m good. I just woke up.” She said.

  True to her words, I can hear in her voice the sleepiness.

“Eat your breakfast first.” I told her, and I heard her giggle.

“I’ll eat later after madre and padre left for work.”She said.

“Why?” I asked.

“I’m kind of avoiding their questions. I’m not ready for their interrogation yet. I still want to savour everything.” She explained, and now its my turn to chuckle.

“I understand. My family threw questions at breakfast. I just told them you’re my girlfriend.”I told her.

“What did they tell you?” She asked.

  I smiled imagining her smile.

“They said that I should not let you slip out of my hands.” I told her.

  She was silent for a while but I can hear a faint sound around that sounds like a squeal and thumping on the bed. These made me smile all giddy inside.

  When I heard her clear her throat, I shook my head and continued to walk.

“They’re seems sweet. Where are you right now?” She asked.

“I’m in school. I’m on my way to the cafe to meet my friends.” I answered.

“I won’t bother you then.” She said.

“But I love listening to your voice.” I whined.

  Like really? Dranz Salvatore whined?

“I’ll talk to you later. I need my morning coffee.” She said.

“Okay, okay. I’ll talk to you later.”I paused, taking a deep breath.

“Bye, I love you.” I told her.

“Bye, I love you too.” She said and then she hangs up.

  I put my phone back inside my pocket and went inside the cafe. Inside, I immediately saw my friends and approached them.

“Hey guys!” I greeted them.

  Justin stared at me.

“What are you on? Meth? Coke? You look so cheerful.” Justin asked.

  I furrowed my eyebrows and took a seat next to him. Just then I noticed that both Aris and Drenk are awfully quiet.

“What’s up with you two?” I asked them.

  Aris glared at me.

“Care to explain to me what happened in the auction?” Aris asked.

“There’s nothing to explain.” I aid.

“Of course there is. You just took off with my cousin! You kidnapped her!” Aris exclaimed.

  Now that’s just a way to dampen my mood.

“I did not kidnap her Aris. I just took my prize.” I told him.

“Did not kidnap her? You just took off with her in tow! You left everybody that night without any explanation.” Aris ranted.

“How about my sister? She was left heartbroken Dranz.” Drenk sneered.

  I glared at Drenk.

“What’s that got to do with me?” I asked.

“You know she loves you.”

“I love her as a sister, nothing else.” I told him.

  Drenk sneered and then he stood up and suddenly grabbed my collar.

“Are you really that self centered?!” Drenk snarled at me.

  Aris and Justin also stood up and tried to pull us apart.

“You guys, knock it off. People are looking.” Justin said.

“What the hell is wrong with you guys?!” Aris exclaimed.

  I grabbed Drenk’s hand on my shirt, and gripped it tight.

“Are you really pissed about your sister or are you pissed that I got to date Max and not you.” I sneered at him.

  Drenk hissed and threw a punch on my face that sent me on the ground. Aris immediately grabbed Drenk before he could attack me again. I glared at Drenk while I wipe the blood on my busted lip, before standing up.

“I’ve made my claim that night Dranz. I already said I’d date her. Heck I even asked her to bid!” Drenk growled.

“But she did not bid for you, nor for anyone didn’t she?” I sneered.

  He pulled away from Aris and about to throw another punch when I beat him to it. I used my arm to deflect his punch before I threw a punch that hit his jaw. Drenk crashed on the floor, as Aris and Justin grabbed us again.

“Stop it you two!” Aris growled.

  Drenk stood up and glared at me, rubbing his jaw.

“Just so you know, I have all the right to take Max on a date any time and anywhere!” I exclaimed.

  Drenk tried to attack me again but Aris held him back.

“Max is my girlfriend. We’ve been seeing each other for some time now, so stop whining if you didn’t get a chance with her!” I exclaimed and everyone looked at me.

“She is not one of those girls that you date Drenk, she’s precious. About your sister, make her understand that I will never see her the way I see Max!” I told them.

  When we heard something shattered, we turned sideways and we saw Anya with Sami. Anya’s eyes were brimming with tears, while looking at me.

“Y-You don’t mean that Dranz.” She said.

  I turned towards her.

“I’m sorry Anya, but that’s the truth. You are a sister to me and that will never change.” I told her.

“What does that b***h have that I don’t?!” Anya sneered.

  I glared at her.

“Call her a b***h one more time and I swear to god, I’ll forget that I once treated you like a sister.” I sneered at her.

  Anya looked shock, and then she turned around and left.

“Anya!” I heard Drenk called after his sister.

  Drenk pulled away from Aris and approached me, glaring at me face to face.

“If anything happens to my sister, it’s your entire fault.” Drenk sneered.

 “Maybe if you did not spoil her, maybe she’d be more understanding.” I sneered back.

  Drenk scoffed and pushed me, before following his sister. Once Drenk was gone, I pulled away from Justin.

“What the hell just happened here?” I heard Sami asked.

“Apparently, some people are not happy about me and Max.” I mumbled.

  Sami furrowed her eyebrows and glared at Justin and Aris. Justin raised his arms as surrender.

“Don’t look at me. I don’t know anything and I’m not against it.” Justin said.

  Sami glared at Aris.

“What? It was my cousin we’re talking about! I am not happy with his stunt in the auction. He just pulled her out of the venue without telling anyone!” Aris said, sounding annoyed.

  Sami crossed her arms over her chest.

“Who gave you the right to be annoyed when you of all people did kidnap me a lot of time before?” Sami paused, and Aris gaped at her.

“And I know where they went. Who do think pack her stuff for their weekend date?” Sami added.

“Woah. Cool accomplice.” Justin chirped, giving Sami a fist bump.

“You knew?!” Aris asked her.

“Yes. Now shut up and order me some iced latte.” Sami said, taking a seat.

  Aris scratched the back of his neck and went to the counter to order. Justin and I went back on out seats.

“Are you okay?” Sami asked me.

“Yeah, don’t tell Max.” I said.

  Sami rolled her eyes.

“Yeah right. Nothing gets passed her. Trust me.” Sami said, and then Aris came back with Sami’s latte.

  Aris sat beside his girlfriend and glared at me.

“Why am I not informed with you dating my cousin?” He asked.

“Dude, we want privacy. We want it to be about us for the meantime. You can ask Max, and she’ll tell you the same.” I told him.

“Heck if you felt left out, how about me? I was gone for a couple of days and yet a lot has happened.” Justin whined.

“What did your parents say?” Aris asked.

  I sighed and run my finger through my hair.

“They just said that I should take care of her.” I told them.

“We’ll you better.”Aris said, taking a sip of Sami’s latte.

“Hey!”

    And just like that, the issue died down. But I cannot help but think about Anya. I feel bad for hurting her, but she needs to realize that I don’t feel anything for her.

  I also hope that Drenk will realize that not every girl will fall for his charms, and have his way with her. He can’t have max. Max is mine, and I won’t let anyone come between us.
