“Jusko ka girl! Bakit mo naman ginawa ‘yon? At tsaka.. sinong tao ang may dala dalang ganon sa bag? Seriously? Two first aid kit?” Bungad sa akin ni Chas. It may sound weird but I always have two little first aid kit in my bag. My brother and cousins are in army and their training was difficult. They always had bruises so it became my habit of bringing at least two first aid kit in my bad. Saad ko, it wasn’t sarcastic it’s more like I was just stating what happened. “Hays, tsaka kung gusto mo maging peaceful buhay mo don’t go near them. They are considered as big shots in this school.” I just looked at her, I don’t get it. I mean, even if they are big shots they are human like us too. “Hay naku, you don’t get it. ‘Yong lalaki na una mong nilapitan ang pangalan non ay si Damian, he is a trouble maker since we were in high school, but I heard he is from a wealthy family. ‘Yong huli mo naman binigyan ng first aid kit, ‘yon si Sage, he’s the son of the owner of this school. His full name is Sage Sawyer and this is Sawyer University, they are super rich tsaka may iba pa silang business. ‘Yong tumanggap naman ng first aid kit na babae, her name is Winter Villanueba. She’s from Villanueba family at mayaman rin, katabi niya naman sa left side ay pinsan niya si Lawrence Villanueba sa likuran naman niya ay si Bryce Stevan, from Stevan Group inc. See? Mga big shots!” She exclaimed. All I get was their names, the details? I did not pay much attention as I think they are normal lang naman. My day went on and I am kind of tired, maybe because I’ve never been with lot of people before so seeing a lot of people makes me tired. And madaldal pa si Chas, kagaya ngayon nagkukwento siya about her crush named Elton Sawyer, according to her pinsan daw’yon ng isa pang Sawyer na binanggit niya kanina. “Cali, bakit ka nagbabaon may pagkain naman dito sa cafeteria ah and sayang kasama rin kaya ‘yon sa tuition. Kaya pakinabangan dapat natin pagiging scholar natin ‘no!” I found out na scholar rin pala si Chas dito since high school, Sawyer University has three campus for garde school, high school and college. I said, my father didn’t let me eat outside food. My mother’s cause of death was food poison. I was 2 when my mother died so I don’t have much memory of her but according to my father, my mother doted me the most. “For real? Bakit naman? Like as in kahit kailan hindi ka pa nakakakain? How about mcdo or Jollibee? Don’t tell me, nong bata ka pa hindi mo hiniling na makakain ng ganon?” See? But before I could answer her question, bigla nalang may naglapag ng first aid kit sa harapan ko, pero mas Malaki ito kumpara sa first aid kit na meron ako. So I look at the person who put it on the table. I believe this guy’s name is Damian. “I don’t want to be indebted.” That’s all he said before walking out. I looked at the first aid kit and I could hear students whispering pero rinig ko naman. “So that’s the girl who gave Damian and Sage a first aid kit?” “I think papansin si ate girl” “Of all people bakit yung dalawang mortal na magkaaway pa binigyan niya, is she dumb?” “I heard she’s from Cebu kaya siguro ignorante” I was confused, what’s wrong kung taga Cebu ako? I mean, Cebu is wonderful! “Tsk, tsk. Wag mo nalang sila pansinin.” So I did. “Cali, may lahi ka ba?” Chas asked, tapos na siya kumain. Ang bilis namanniya, ako hindi pa. “Wala ah.” I answered. Finally, I’m done. “Seryoso?” she asked in disbelief. “Oo nga, bakit?” I asked. “Mukha kang may lahi e, Ang ganda ganda mo. Your hazel eyes matches your full facial feature. ‘Yong ilong mo sakto lang ang tangos, hindi ganon ka tangos pero hindi rin pango. Para kang doll. May kuya ka ba?” Natawa ako sa last na tanong niya. “Meron.” Sagot ko sa huli niyang tanong. “For real? Patingin!” “Wala akong picture niya e.” Totoo naman, I never stored a picture of my family on my phone. Just in case I lose my phone. Even family picture wala ka?” dismayado niyang tanong. “Wala e. Hayaan mo ipapakilala kita sa kanya sa tamang panahon.” Although Chas is kind, it’s my family that we are talking about. It’s too private to share it to her. “Kailan naman ‘yon? Hays!” parang bata niyang reklamo, I smiled at her. “Alam kong maganda ka but don’t smile at me, straight ako!” Now I laughed at her. Sinamaan niya naman ako ng tingin so I stopped pero nginitian ko parin siya. “Hay nako, you’re so stubborn ha. Tara na nga!” “Uhm, una ka na. Dadaan pa ako ng locker ko e.” Itinaas ko sa kanya ang lunch bag ko. “Samahan na kita.” Alok niya. “Wag na, magsisipilyo pa ako e.” Tumango nalang siya at naghiwalay na kami ng landas. *** I put my lunch bag inside my locker before brushing my teeth since malapit lang naman ang cr sa locker. “Look who we have here.” A brown haired girl spoke while looking at me. I rinsed my mouth and ignore her. “You’re ignoring me huh? Looks like you want to pay attention to Sage only.” She laughed sarcastically. What’s her dead? “May kasalanan po ba ako sa inyo?” I asked. I was raised to be polite. “Two faced b***h. So galang ha, using po? If I know, gusto mo lang magpapansin kay Sage!” She pointed her finger at me. Rude. I calmed and excused myself. “Where do you think you’re going huh?” two girls hell my arms. “Kung girlfriend po kayo nong Sage ay wala po kayong dapat ikabahala.” I said, I am not dumb. This girl must be his girlfriend. I thought she will calm down but to my surprise she poured a bottle of water on my head, then all of them laughed. “You girls seems to have fun huh?” one of the cubicle opened and the girl was surprised to see my state. “What do you think you’re doing, Nathalie?” the three girls were surprised to see Winter. “Do you think it’s funny?” taas kilay na tanong ni Winter. “W-winter..” one of the girls uttered. “You don’t have the right to call my name. Apologize to her at pag nahuli ko kayo ulit na ginawa ‘to sa kanya isusumbong kokayo. You girls don’t want suspension, do you?” The other two girls apologized at nagmadaling umalis na rin. “Salamat.” I thaked her. “No problem. I’m Winter, Cali right? You’re wet. Do you have an extra uniform?” she asked, I shook my head, and never did I expect this to happen. “I don’t have one either. Let’s go to the clinic, they always have a spare there, for emergency.” Sabi niya at inabot sa akin ang panyo niya to wipe my wet face and hair. I ended up washing my entire face at tinuyo gamit and panyo ni Winter. She was looking at me the whole time while waiting for me. “Pasensya na sa abala, Winter. Pwede kana mauna sa classroom baka malate ka.” 5 minutes nalang ay next subject na naming. “No, I won’t leave you ‘no. It’s ok to be late we have a valid reason naman.” Sinamahan niya nga ako sa clinic, the nurse asked us what happened so Winter told her the truth. The nurse urge us to report it but I refused. “Huwag na po.” I said, not because I don’t want to but because I don’t want nanang to worry.
