Valencia shook her head. "I don't want to bother brother Corbyn…"
Aviva shook her head like a rattling drum. What bother? Even if big brother Corbyn wants to feel bothered, Aviva will never give him the chance to. She quickly waved her hands. "Oh no. I'm sure he'd be willing to be bothered by you." Aviva quickly replied with a mischievous smirk plastered on her face. She took out her phone and began to dial Corbyn's number happily.
Valencia gasped in shock, not expecting Aviva to quickly act. Aviva is just too silly and enthusiastic. Alas, she can't be so whenever it comes to Warrick.
"Big brother, sister-in-law Valencia wants to speak with you," Aviva spoke with a meaningful voice and handed the phone to Valencia, but not before putting the phone on speaker.
Valencia gave Aviva a death glare, but it only made Aviva chortle louder.
"Big brother, Corbyn," Valencia called softly.
Throughout the five years Valencia left Lex, Corbyn Cirillo had been one of the huge forces who stood behind Valencia and hid her from Maverick's men, so she had a good feeling about Corbyn.
"Valencia." The man called in a deep yet pleasant voice. One soft and one extremely deep, the voices sounded matching. "How's your trip back…"
"Boohoo! Not fair!" Aviva sullenly cried out in a form of protest. "Big brother Corbyn, who's your sister? Why will you care about Valencia and not me?" She argued playfully, her lips pursed in feigned grievances.
"It's different." Corbyn refuted calmly, his voice holding a trace of indulgence for her. Aviva hardly goes without traveling in a month; however, this is Valencia's first trip in years.
Aviva scoffed and played with her fingers. "Well, I understand. She's your wife." Aviva blurted out bluntly.
"Aviva!" Valencia's lips parted in shock, and Aviva stuck out her tongue in return. How can Aviva be this brazen?
Valencia's face and neck flushed in embarrassment, but she took a deep breath to suppress it. "Brother Corbyn, I'll talk to you when we arrive at the mansion." She conveyed and handed the phone to the snickering Aviva, who handed it to the eager quadruplet.
"Uncle." The quadruplet’s cheerful tone filled Valencia's ears as she stared out of the window.
A flash of light filled her eyes, and her fist clenched. After so many years, Valencia finally returned to Lex. What method should she use to surprise them?
______
"Grandma. Grandad." The quadruplets bolted out of the car and bolted towards the Cirillo couple, who were currently waiting at the mansion's entrance for them.
Despite being in their forties, Raven Castillo and Fleet Castillo looked as if they were in their early thirties. They both looked gentle and easygoing, which was far from the ruthless identity that the crowd and press portrayed them as.
"My little grandkids, grandma missed you." Raven kissed their cheeks and hugged them happily.
"Grandma, I missed you too. I think of you every day and dream of you every night." Hudson uttered glibly.
"Hudson, you said you dream of me every night." Valencia accused with a playful tone, which caused everyone to laugh.
Hudson's face reddened with grievances. He pursed his lips and stared at Valencia unhappily for taking him out. "Mom, my dream contains you and grandma." He grumbled
"Well, don't mind, mom. Grandma's dream contains Hudson only." Raven coaxed him gently.
Hudson wrinkled his nose and shook his head, complete disbelief written in his eyes. "I know grandma will say the same thing to my siblings." He interrupted in a cute, grievance-filled tone, rendering everyone laughing.
"Smart little mouth." Fleet pulled Hudson's cheek and picked him up. "Let grandpa carry you."
"I brought grandma a gift." Orson's voice was cold and stiff, his hand placed next to him like a child who had undergone strict teaching since birth.
"Your little son is turning into an iceberg daily." Raven sighed and raised her hand to carry Orson.
Orson took a step back, ducking away from Raven's hug. "Apologies, Grandma; a man shouldn't be carried." He said seriously, with a slight bow.
Everyone's lips twitched, and their eyes fell on Valencia, who shrugged indifferently. "That's what I go through every day." She conveyed in a casual tone.
However, inside her heart, she was already shedding drums of tears. Her little son is already an iceberg at this age; what'll he be when he's older than this? It must be the genes of that jerk. That bastard doesn't have one good thing about him.
Corbyn bent down to shake Orson's stretched hand. "You're right." He agreed, and that made Orson's eyes light up.
"Grandma is so beautiful. I made Grandma my muse for my next fashion decoration. Yes, I missed Grandma also." Iris turned to Raven while blinking cutely.
Raven's heart turned soft immediately, and she carried Iris up, smacking lots of kisses on her cheeks. As the only princess of the quadruplets, Iris was pampered a lot from all sides. "Did you like grandma's gift?"
Before Iris could nod her head, Hudson, who had been licking Sweet, poked his head from where he was hiding behind Valencia, which attracted everyone's attention.
Upon seeing that everyone's attention was on him, Hudson stood straight, pursed his lips, and held his sweet out. "Who's in for a lick?"
Despite his cold facade, the pursing of his lips makes him look extremely cute, stealing everyone's heart.
They can't deny that all the quadruplets were cute smartasses who could easily charm people.
"Valencia." The couple finally turned their attention to Valencia. Their eyes softened, and they hugged her despite the ugly mark on her face. "It has been so hard on you, kid." Raven stroked Valencia's hand.
Valencia shook her head and smiled sweetly. "No, mom. I have you." Valencia replied in an honest tone that made the couple's eyes soften.
"Let's go in. Let's talk inside." The couple sweetly motioned everyone.
"We wanted to hold a party to celebrate your arrival, but Aviva wanted it to be a feast. Who cared about that Maverick rascal from the Vandenberg family? If he dared, he should show up at our Cirillo mansion." Fleet snorted. The Cirillo family had already taken Valencia as their daughter; naturally, they didn't want her to suffer grievances.
Just the thought of all Valencia had been through in the past made their hearts ache. However, they promised that it'd only be a thing of the past, and they wouldn't let her feel wrong, no matter whether it was now or in the future.
"Valencia." A devilishly handsome face, with sharp eyelashes that seem like the stroke of a sword, deep and cold black eyes that produce no ripples, a beautifully carved long nose, and enticing thin lips, called.
