Leaving London

Santiago "Okay, what is it?" I asked my fathers. Yes, I have two fathers. It's not that complicated. My mother married my father, Nathan Lionheart, and had me. She also loved his younger brother Christopher and had my brother or I guess half brother Mateo. They all live happily ever after. They share my mother in some strange way and I don't judge. I love my mother, she has always been caring and loving. If she is happy with this choice and life then I shall be too. It is hard or was when I was growing up but my father was hardly around so I guess Chris raised me more so I probably do have two dads in that sense. "Well, as you know we are leaving London in two days, and we need to make sure everything is taken care of," my father Nathan said. "Always about work," I said as I rolled my eyes. "Don't you think we should leave tonight? Your wife has already been home for two weeks, alone." "She went with your uncle Enzo," my father said. "He is probably taking good care of her," Mateo said. I snapped a dirty look his way so did my father. "We need to make sure this move goes smoothly," Chris said. "That way we leave London behind and stay where we belong for good." "That may be where you belong," I told him. "Santiago," my father called. "You have been doing a great job taking over but we need you to be serious. You need to think about your future, you're about to be thirty." "Not everyone wants to be married by twenty-five," I retorted. "Just make sure everything is ready for an easy transition, okay," my father demanded. "Got it," I said as I walked to the bar and made myself a drink. My fathers left while my office while I stay to look over a few new projects we were developing. "Going out tonight?" Mateo asked. "No," I answered. "Y Porque no," Mateo said. "I don't want to," I said. "It's our last night in London," "We can always come back," "Yeah, but you not wanting to go out, what happened?" "Nada, now drop it," "Okay," Mateo smirked. "Hope she doesn't get you whipped too hard." "You need a good whipping," I joked. "Let's just have one more hurrah," "I guess," That Night Mateo orchestrated a rooftop pool party. Dozens and Dozens of beautiful ladies in bikinis. The music was loud. At one point, there were fireworks. Mateo was busy doing body shots while I was talking to two lovely ladies. My brother and I were very different but in some things we were very alike. We loved women and women loved us or well our money. We both had reasons for never wanting to commit. I didn't trust anyone and he didn't want to fall in love. He assumed relationships weren't monogamous so why even try but he also knew what our parents had was not wildly accepted. How could he find someone who would understand when no one truly understood. I saw a blonde in the distance and I thought it was the same girl from last night but as soon as I got a better look, I knew it wasn't. This one didn't have those incredible hazel eyes as mine did. Mine, that was funny. I probably won't ever see her again. I let thoughts of her go and began to make out with my two new friends. That night was a blur after 3 am. The next day, I woke up with such a headache. Mateo was sleeping on my couch with red lipstick all over his body. I guess the ladies wrote their numbers on him. How sweet. "i***t, wake up," I told him. "We have one day to pack." "Pack," Mateo grunted. "Why don't we just buy new things." "Get up, NOW!" I shouted. "FINE!" he yelled back. I guess I knew why he was pissed. It hurt my ears and head when he shouted back at me. I ordered us breakfast and went for a shower. Mateo just turned twenty-three so he wasn't really ready to be responsible or be a grown-up. As much as I partied, I was still the new CEO of my family's business. I was responsible enough even if I liked to have fun and have a few good nights with a few lovely women. I spent that whole day packing up our hotel and then went to my office to get a few more things. THE NEXT DAY "READY?" Mateo asked. "No," I said. "I had spent my whole life here. I wasn't sure what this new chapter in my life would hold but I wasn't ready for it. "I got everything I need," Mateo said. "You need any more help?" "No, I am good," I told him. "I am just going to have a quick meeting with everyone and I will meet you at the hanger." "Okay," he said. I gathered my team and thanked them for everything they have done for these past years. Some of them were coming with me and some were staying here with Enzo. Uncle Enzo would stay being the point man in London until I found someone else. My father wanted Mateo to be that person but he was not ready for that. I made it to the airport at 5 pm. We were ready to take off. I looked out the window one last time before shutting my eyes and resting until we arrived back home. The home I haven't seen or been in since I was seven.
