He will come back, right?

(Skylar P.O.V)

"I can't believe those two it's my future we are talking about," I said to Erika while pacing around the garden.

"I don't understand what are you angry about," Erika said to me.

"I don't want to marry him unless I'm sure he loves me," I said while looking at the ground.

"You have no other choice," she said annoyed with me.

"If you are not sure that Daniel loves you, you have never accepted to marry him," I protest.

"In a matter of fact, I still would have accepted," she said while smiling at me.

"But why?" I asked puzzled.

"Because I love him," she said in the duh tone and I raised my eyebrow at her.

"Once the man feels the love of someone close to him, he unconsciously started sharing their feelings," she explains with a smile on her face.

"I will go and see the lunch is ready," she said when we saw Xavier coming close to us. He waits till Erika goes in the mansion and then come towards me.

"What did my aunt says," I ask him as soon as he comes closer to me.

"We will get married in four months," he said to me unemotionally.

"So soon?" I ask with a wide eye.

"Having a situation in the mind, it's good not to wait too long, and we will also have the time to get to know each other better," he explains.

"I understand," I said with a forced smile.

"What is bothering you?" he asks looking inside my eyes like he is looking inside in my soul while cupping my face in his hand.

"I am scared," I said looking away from him.

"There is no need to be scared I will protect you," he said with a small smile on his face.

*He doesn't understand does he,* I thought and inwardly shake my head.

"I just wanted to be able to smile gain freely," I said putting my head on his chest.

"What is stopping you?" he asks holding me closer to him.

"I don't have a reason to for a long time, and now I have you to smile for, I am scared that you will leave me," I said and lone tears fall down from my eyes but I wipe it away before he saw it.

"I won't leave you and I will always stay by your side and make you happy," he said while holding my face in his hand and kissed my forehead.

We heard someone cleared their throat and we pull away from each other to see Erika was smiling at us.

"The dinner is ready, come soon love birds," she teases and walks away to the dining room. I just shake my head at her antics and we go to the dining room to eat dinner.

The dinner goes as usual eating and talking about the wedding and other things but I still can feel the tension between Xavier and my aunt. She doesn't like him but she doesn't have a choice but to accept him as a family member.

It's been a few weeks since he comes to ask my hand from my aunt. We keep going out to spend some time with each other even after my aunt protest, she still can't able to trust him and I can't blame her for that, I can understand her very well.

We are now sitting in the living hall having some tea and talking about random things.

"Do you heard about the new opera this month?" I ask my aunt while pouring some tea for me.

"I think we might-" she said but interrupted when suddenly the door opens and panting Xavier enters in the living hall.

"I am sorry to interrupt but I need to talk to Skylar immediately," he said, his both the hands on his knees and he was breathing heavily as he has just run a marathon.

"What is it?" I ask and walk with him to the garden.

"I am sorry Skylar, I could have sent someone but I want to tell you about this myself," he said making me worry.

"What happened?" I ask getting worried.

"I just got a letter from my uncle, he is on his death bed and he wishes to see me," he said running his hand in his hair.

"Oh god, I am so sorry to know Xavier," I said while looking down at the ground feeling sad from him. His uncle is the only family he has left.

"Don't worry it's not the first time he has called me for the same reason," he said with a chuckle.

"I will leave the address of his house. In case you find out something you think I should know, " he said.

"I will," I said with a forced smile.

"Don't worry, I will be back in a few days," he kissed me and I kissed him back, then he walks out of my house after saying goodbye to me.

"What happened?" my aunt asks as soon as I entered the room.

"His uncle is on his death bed so he has to go to see him," I said while looking down at the ground.

"But your engagement isn't official yet I hope he comes back," my aunt said to me.

"He would never run away, he will come back." 'right?' I thought and walk towards my room getting tired from all this drama that was going on my life.
