“Whoa, calm down, cowboy,” Nicco said. He half-pulled, half-dragged his partner out of the interrogation room by the back of his jacket and closed the door behind them.
“That’s just a small-time crook we’ve got in there, not Charles Manson.” Nicco planted Rider by the vending machine and stood back.
Rider’s normally pale face was red with anger, and he was panting. He’d taken the perp by the shirt and smashed him against the wall of the interrogation room, shouting obscenities at him. Nicco had had to pull Rider off the guy. It hadn’t been easy, as Rider was f*****g strong when angry.
Nicco watched Rider take a few deep breaths, letting each out slowly, until satisfied he wasn’t going to take off back in there and tear the guy apart.
