Chapter 4 I’m hiding in the women’s bathroom. I stare at the text I just sent Nelson as I pull up my feet on the toilet so they won’t be visible from under the stall. Not that anyone is using the ladies’ room this evening since it’s gay karaoke night at The Donkey & The Crown—my friend Billy’s favorite Irish pub—which is the whole idea behind hiding here. But just in case the huge handsy i***t oaf I’d met tonight has brain cells enough to think to look here, I don’t want him to see me. I wish I’d stayed at home like I wanted to and not let Billy drag me out. I could have made more ornaments and daydreamed about Nelson. Or I could have read a book and daydreamed about Nelson or played cards with Grampa and daydreamed about Nelson. But nooooo. I had to be a good friend and go with Billy.
