11 They stepped into the cool interior of the coffee shop. It had the feel of a retro apothecary. Jars of loose-leaf teas filled the mahogany shelves that lined the walls. A classic Italian espresso machine gleamed black and gold on the counter. A standup bar ran the length of the front wall. Perfect for people-watching on the boardwalk. Lucas ordered a coffee and gestured for her to make her choice. Slightly wary, she ordered a cappuccino. What was this all about?
