Chapter 8 The threat.

Unknown’s P.O.V

I was standing in front of the old hag that I had given money to and then threatened into helping me get what I always wanted. The Alpha King Logan. He was going to be mine one way or another and nothing was going to stop me, especially the ugly old b***h in front of me.

“Are you sure that this is going to work?” I asked, unsure.

“Madam, I know that it’s going to work. You put this in her drink and an hour after drinking it she will be dead.” She replied and I nodded.

“Remember that if you know what’s good for you then you won’t tell anyone else I was here.” I said, taking the bag from her.

“Yes, madam.” She replied, bowing her head as I left. I enjoyed being bowed to and soon the whole kingdom would bow down to me. I was still unsure how I was going to do this, I mean how can I get into the palace and put the poison into ehr drink without being seen? The answer is simple, I can’t, but maybe I could bribe one of the palace guards to do it for me. That’s it, I’ll do that now and I know just the guard that would be willing to help me, I thought, making my way to the palace grounds to meet my unknowing helping hand.

Logan’s P.O.V

It had been a long day for Layla and I, making so many calls and attending meetings for different things, but now the day was nearly over and Layla had already gone upstairs to our room. I was still in my office, just finishing up a few things when Beta Ron came in, but he was followed by one of the palace guards. The guard was carrying a small bag or pouch in his right hand and a huge amount of money in his left hand. I was curious to know what was in the bag and what this was all about, but before I could ask Beta Ron spoke up.

“My king, someone approached this guard with this money and bag.” Beta Ron said, pointing to the money and bag that the guard was holding.

“You can approach.” Beta Ron said, turning to face the guard. The guard took a couple of steps forward and placed the money and bag down on my desk.

“What is in the bag?” I asked, but he shook his head.

“I don’t know, my king. The woman told me to put this into the queen's drink and then leave. I’ve seen the woman before and I think that she is the one that keeps sneaking up to the castle.” The guard replied and I nodded.

“If you see her again would you recognise her?” I asked, looking at the bag and money.

“Yes, my king, I would, but something tells me that she is trying to harm the queen.” The guard replied, causing me to growl loudly. How dare this b***h try to hurt my queen.

“What does this woman look like?” I asked, wanting to know who this b***h is and why she intends to do this.

“She wears a long dark gown, has dark green eyes and long brown hair.” The guard replied, making me stand up at the mention of her. I started pacing back and forth across the floor, while Beta Ron and the guard stood back.

“Ron, do you remember her? She came here a few times wanting me to pick her as my mate and queen, but I denied her. She even tried to trick me into mating and marking her, but I figured it out in time and threw her out of the castle.” I said, looking at Ron. he stood there for a few seconds, thinking over everything I had said and then his eyes lit up in recognition.

“Yes actually, I do remember her. She was always hanging around and would try sneaking into one of the rooms you used to sleep in, until we caught her. We banned her from ever coming around, but I guess that she didn’t take the hint seeing as she is still trying.” Beta Ron replied, then turned to face the guard.

“Kenny, I want you to get all the guards and go find the queen, bring her here. Her life's in danger until we find this woman.” Beta Ron said and Kenny nodded.

“Yes sir, right away, sir.” Kenny replied and hurried out of the office.

Kenny’s (The guard) P.O.V

I rushed outside and went straight to the guards house, telling them what we had been told to do and then we hurried to find the queen. After thirty minutes of searching for her we finally found her playing and spending time with the orphan pups.

“What is it, Kenny?” The queen asked, looking confused and worried at how many of us were here.

“The king needs you in his office right away.” I replied and she nodded, but still looked worried.

“Well okay, I’ll be there shortly.” The Queen replied, but I shook my head.

“I’m sorry, my queen, but I was told to personally escort you there.” I said and she gave me another confused look.

“Alright then, come on. Since it can’t wait until I get home then let’s hurry.” The Queen replied, getting up. Thirty minutes after leaving we were all standing in the huge wide office of the king and the queen was in her rightful place behind the desk standing next to the king.

“Okay, I’m here now, so tell me what’s going on?” The queen asked and the king sighed.

“I’m not going to beat around the bush…” The king replied and began to tell her everything. He told her about the woman, the money and the pouch of poison, but when he had finished her eyes were wide.

“Did you sleep with her?” The queen asked, looking right at the king, but he quickly shook his head.

“No. Never.” The king replied, without hesitating and the queen nodded.

“So, this woman thinks that she can come onto the palace grounds, bribe a guard, spy on us and then try to poison me.” The queen said, growling harshly and all heads snapped up to her. Her eyes were as black as night, but there was something different about her.

Layla’s P.O.V

I knew what I had to do and I was going to do it, so I turned to Kenny, but it wasn’t me that was in control now. I was taking a back seat and it was my wolf, Alexa, that was in control now and she was pissed off.

“When will you see her again?” Alexa asked, snapping as she came forward. She had taken control of me and all I could do was watch what she did, but I could still hear everything that was being said, even if I couldn’t talk.

“I…I don’t know, she appears at night.” Kenny replied, stuttering slightly.

“Well, when you see her, give her a message from me. Tell her to meet me in the arena because if she wants the king then she will have to fight me to the death.” Alexa said, but Kenny shook his head.

“But my queen, she’s dangerous.” Kenny replied and that made me even angrier.

“I DON’T GIVE A DAMN IF SHE IS, I’M MORE OF A DANGER TO HER THAN SHE IS TO ME!!! NOW DO WHAT I SAY!!!” Alexa shouted and everyone jumped at my command.

Logan’s P.O.V

I knew right away that it wasn’t Layla in control, it was ehr wolf Alexa, but I was shocked when she shouted and growled harshly. I tried to put my arm around her waist, hoping to calm her down, but she growled at me.

“Alexa, let Layla out, you’re scaring everyone. I promise that you will be able to get her, I promise.” I whispered and gently rubbed her back. I felt as she started to calm down and then Layla started to come back, blinking her eyes and trying to focus on everyone as Alexa retreated to the back of her mind, giving Layla control.

“I’m sorry, my wolf was angry and she took control, but I’m back now. So, what is the plan, do we even have one?” Layla asked and I shook my head.

“No, my queen, we don’t, but Alexa wants us to tell this woman, when she decides to show her face again, to meet her in the arena, she wants to fight this woman to the death.” I replied and Layla nodded.

“Yes, I know, I could hear everything that was being said even though I wasn’t in control. Well, we will see what happens in the next few days, until then keep an eye out for her and if you do find her, then capture her.” Layla said and everyone nodded and bowed to her.

“Everyone can leave now.” Layla said and everyone turned and left the office, except Beta Ron, who remained standing in the same place.

“My queen, are you alright?” Beta Ron asked, wondering the same thing that I was.

“Of course, my wolf just doesn’t like being challenged or threatened. She knows I’ve been through a lot lately, so she came forward.” Layla replied and Beta Ron nodded.

“Okay, well, I’m going to take my leave now and get some rest, but do not worry, we will get her and when we do we won’t let her get away this time.” Beta Ron said and we both nodded. Beta Ron turned and left the office, heading to his bedroom to rest and then Layla turned to face me.

“I didn’t mean to scare everyone, I just got angry, but who is this woman?” Layla asked and I sighed as I sat down.

“Her name is Penny and all she wants is power and my throne. Many have tried and failed, but she was so persistent and tried many different ways to get to me, so we banned her from the castle. I don’t know how she keeps getting into the palace grounds, but she is.” I replied and Layla nodded.

“Well, if she wants a fight, then I will give her one. She will not come out alive and she will not get you. You are mine.” Layla said, grabbing me by the shirt and pulling me towards her. She kissed me hard on the lips, then broke the kiss and pulled back. I looked at her and saw that her canines had elongated, but before I could say anything she ripped my shirt off and leaned into my neck. She licked my neck, sending shivers down my spine and my d**k to harden and then she bit into me, marking me once again. I grabbed her by the hair and pulled her closer to me, wanting her to bite me harder. She leaned her head to the side, giving me access to her neck and I sunk my canines into her, marking her again. We both let go at the same time and I picked her up as I stood up, then shoved everything off my desk, papers and all. I sat her down on top, lifted her skirt and ripped her panties off as she took off my pants. I slammed my d**k inside her and started pumping in and out of her as hard as I could. We were making it known to each other that we belonged together and nothing and no one was ever going to come between us. We made love and when we were done we went upstairs to our bedroom. I wanted her and needed to have her again, so as soon as the bedroom door closed I grabbed her and bent her over, entering her from behind. Her screams of pleasure and my moans echoed around the room as we made love once again and throughout the night, not caring if we didn’t get any sleep at all.
