Chapter 16 Ezekiel’s pov I hated that after our date, I had to go back to only seeing my mate at meal times, but I understood her need for time. It felt good to get it all off of my chest, though, and for the most part, she understood how I had felt about things, even if she didn’t like my actions because of it. The main issue we were stuck on was the issue of her cousin. I had explained it, and now I wanted to forget it and move on. Neither Lucifer nor I felt comfortable making the issue public. It was ridiculous to think that we could be coerced into anything. Even if people just heard about it without any proof they would either think that I am much weaker than I should be as the son of a god, or it is a convenient excuse to win back the favour of my mate so that I am not rejected.
