CHAPTER 8: HE'S DANGEROUS
I had a mouth full of cereal when my phone rang. Seeing Joyce’s contact show up on the screen I quickly finished chewing and swallowed before answering the call.
“Hello?”
“Hey, morning,” Joyce greeted, “I know this is super last minute but would you be able to give me a ride to school this morning? Mike had early practice and Kris doesn’t have time cause she drops her sister off at the middle school.”
“Sure, I’m leaving mine in five minutes,” I tell her.
“Sounds good, thanks so much Charlie,” she replies before hanging up. I quickly finished my cereal and downed the last little bit of my coffee.
