CHAPTER 16: THEY LOVE YOU “I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid,” he tells me as we get out of his Jeep and head towards the diner doors. “I know you love curly fries and they’ve got the best ones here,” he adds and my face lights up at the mention of my favorite food. We sat at a booth with low backs (not high ones like at a fancy restaurant that blocks the booths off like little cube) and a waitress came over. “Hi there Killian,” the waitress, a woman probably in her early thirties greeted with familiarity, “New friend?” “This is Charlie; Charlie this is Melissa. I’ve been ordering the same thing since I was seven so she’s got my order memorized,” Killian and I smiled at the woman as she comments with a chuckle, “He won’t even try our new specials like his usual too much.
