This whole waking up in strange places after falling unconscious is really inconvenient, but this time, I woke up in a really really soft bed. I was awake, but I kept my eyes closed for a little while longer just to have a chance to truly appreciate the cloud I was laying on.
Goddess knows when I’d be able to lay on a bed like this again.
Until, a familiar scent flew under my nose: Zoe!
I opened my eyes and quickly moved to sit up on my elbows. There she was, sitting ahead of the bed, across the room looking out a giant window. Her head turned to me in an instant when she heard the sheets ruffle.
Words couldn’t begin to express how happy I was that she was here with me. That she was even alive.
