We increase the pace of our steps to catch up with the Teacher but he soon enters his office like lightning. We knock on his door which was recently slammed, and he opens it with a remote. We both open the door, lock it again, and bow our heads, not knowing what to do or say.
"Have a seat." He points to the swivel chair facing opposite him, and I smile widely and wildly. I love swivel chairs! "And you, your attention is not needed." He points to Rose.
"Well, I have to stand here until you give me your verdict that you won't hurt her in any way." Rose says, and I become surprised.
"I won't hurt her." He submits.
"Sophia, take care." Rose says, and leaves through the door.
"So...?" I demonstrate a fake confidence.
"Sit here." He says, softly.
"Okay." I respond, and moves to the swivel chair. I sit on it and we face each other.
"I'm Robert. You are Sophia, right?" He asks, and I nod.
"How are you doing today? Have you eaten anything?"
"No. I have not. I will, when I get back to my hostel." I retort.
"Ookay..." He stutters, thinking of what next to say.
"May I know who your mate is?" He asks, and stares at me.
"Pardon?" I reply him.
"Who are you mated to? Can I know?" He asks, again.
"No, you can't." I reply.
"But ..." he says, and I cut in.
"By the way, I'm not mated to anyone yet." I cut in.
"Do you mean it?" He asks, beams of joy flushing on his face.
"Yes, I mean it. By next year, I will clock eighteen and be mated to the mate Luna chooses for me."
"A wolf or a vampire?"
"A wolf of course."
"Alright, I will guide you till you become eighteen and get mated. Okay?"
"Okay, thank you, Sir." I say, and make a move to stand but he holds my hand, and cuddles it.
"What...?" I stammer.
"Sophia, please sit down." He struggles to say, and I obey.
"What pack are you from?"
"I'm not from any pack, Mr Robert!" I yelp, and he shifts back.
"You are not up to eighteen, I know. But that doesn't stop you from being in a pack." He says.
"My Dad is a Beta in a pack, and my Mum is a previous Omega for a different pack too." I explain.
"Oh, great!" He exclaims, and says. "What pack is your Dad a beta of?"
"MoonTeam pack." I splutter.
"Good." He says, softly.
"Do you know the pack?" I ask.
"Yes, your Dad is Dylan, right?"
"No, he is not." I reply. "But do you know him?"
"No, I do hear of him as a brave Beta. Karl will resign as an Alpha too, and Dylan will mount the position." He says.
"Oh okay. Good luck to him." I say, and stand to go.
"Sophia, not done yet?" A voice emanates from outside.
"I'm coming!" I yell, and push back the table, standing up from the swivel chair. "Thank you for your time, Robert."
"Sophia, let's meet after the school shuts down today." He says.
"Okay then." I snap my finger, and rush out of his office, slamming the door behind. Rose bumps into me, and I nearly hit my head on a rock near Rob's office.
At once, her eyes turn into dark green, and she grabs hold of me.
"That was scary though." I tell her, and she chuckles, having turned her eyes back into normal human eyes.
"Do we have any lecture right now?" I ask her.
"No, we don't." She replies. "Lest I forget, Max asked after you."
"Max? Who is Max?" I shrug, and she pinches the nape of my neck.
"Oh! The one who helped me get into the hostel?" I remember immediately she did.
"Yes, and the one who grabbed hold of your hand when you wanted to walk out on Robert."
I chuckle and ask her: "Is Robert your mate?"
"Mate? Dammit!" She snubs.
"He's a Vampire." She says, and I stare at her.
"Vampire? Robert?" I ask her, statuesque.
"Yeah. I'm an hybrid, so he doesn't trifle with me or else I will deal the hell outta him." She chuckles.
"But I think he knows about my history." I tell her.
"It is through his power as a Vampire. Don't give him the access."
"How can I do that?"
We both stop at the kitchenette, and rest our body on a wall. She sighs three times, and clears her throat. Then she tells me how.
"How?" I ask her again, and she starts telling me.
"To restrict his access from knowing about you or your history, you have to be a vampire or an hybrid." She explicates. "But if you are not, you have to stay away from him."
I sigh and my forehead furrows.
"He even asked me to see him after the school shuts down."
"Never go meet him. He is able to retrieve your werewolf power, and delay your time of shifting and getting your mate." She splutters. "In the process of looking for your mate, he will come in, and claim you."
I drool this minute and the next, I speak up.
"Can he just claim it? Just like that?" I ask her and she gives me a biff on my nose.
"Don't be an illiterate. He will kidnap you into his pack, and mark you as his mate."
"Oh! I don't want that." I exclaim.
"Then stay away from him." She replies, almost immediately I exclaimed.
"Stay away from him or stay away from vampires?" I ask, painstakingly.
"From him. Not all Vampires are harmful."
"How do I know if they are harmful or harmless?" I ask her, cupping my jaws.
"Harmful ones are called Dark Vampires, and Harmless ones are just normal vampires. And harmful hybrid of werewolves and Vampires are Rebel Vampires.
"Thank you very much, Rose. You are an harmless hybrid."
"Sure, buttercup." She smiles, and gives me an hug.
"We will go hunting tonight after class. Okay?" She affirms me.
"Yes, sure." I reply, and tighten the hug.
