Chapter 3

(Kitiana)

I woke up from the best sleep I have ever had. My eyes fluttered open to see that I was on a soft, but firm surface. I move away slowly to see I was laying on Gavin's chest. I could feel the heat crawl up my neck and up my face. I felt so safe being in his arms.

'Come on Kitiana, a man like that must have a girlfriend or two maybe three' I thought to myself. I looked at his face and I saw that he was looking at me and I blushed even more.

"S-sorry. I... I..." I groaned and ran to the bathroom slamming the door behind me. I could hear him chuckle from the other side of the bathroom door. I looked at myself in the mirror though I still had dark circles under my eyes I felt...good. I wash my face, brushed my hair then braided it and brush my teeth. When I finished I headed out the bathroom, but I did not see Gavin in the room.

'Did he leave without saying bye?' I asked myself. Then I heard a noise coming from the kitchen. I made my way to the kitchen only to see Gavin cutting up some vegetables. Every time he breathes or move his muscles flex. Wow he is so perfect, you can tell the moon goddess took her time in making him. Yes, I listened to everything he had told me. I never thought that something I read in a book would be real, just hidden from humans because of how they could react.

'Stop drooling Kitiana. He's most likely taken. Anyways, he's a Lycan and you're human with a secret' I scowled myself.

"Do you like what you see?" Gavin asks without turning around to look at me. He probably smelled me or heard me coming. I ignored his question not wanting to let him know that I did like what I was seeing and clear my throat and ask, "what are you making? You know I'm supposed to be the one cooking. After all you are my guest." He looks back at me and shakes his head.

"This is my way of thanking you for saving my life. Dinner should be done in forty minutes" Gavin smiles and continues to cook. I shrug then walked back to my room. I go in my closet and put on some leggings and a sports bra then go to the area next to the living room where I have my punching bag and begin my work out for the day. Usually I do this in the morning, but I was exhausted. I begin to stretch and then I start with the punching bag. I punch and kick the bag for about twenty-five minutes. I wipe the sweat from my forehead and then I take off my gloves. Then I get into a handstand and start my handstand pushups. These pushups are very difficult; you don't just support your whole body up, but also need to keep the balance when you're not using the wall or any assistance when you do the pushups. I wrinkle my nose feeling the sweat drip from the tip of it. On my fortieth pushup I flip over and when I do, I come face to face... well more like face to chest with Gavin.

"That is very impressive. I have never met any female not even a she-wolf who could do handstand pushups" he says with a proud look on his face.

I told him and went to my room to take a shower. I washed my hair with my herbal essence which by the way I love because it smells like red roses. Then I grabbed my caress body wash of black orchids and washed myself. Then I left the warm water relax my muscles.

(Gavin)

I had just finished making dinner for the both of us. I sniffed the air and followed my mate's scent. To my surprised she was doing handstand pushups. I stood there taking her in completely. The sweat caressed her body in a hungry manner. You could see her curves perfectly with the black legging and the sports bra she had on. Her perfect breast shined lightly because of the sweat and the light. I had to close my eyes and take deep breaths because Colin was clawing wanting to come out and claim our mate. She flipped over and came face to face with my chest. She slowly looked up at me.

"That is very impressive. I have never met any female not even a she-wolf who could do handstand pushups" I said trying to push my wolf down. She blushes lightly pink and said "Thanks. It took a while to do it, but I finally was able to master it. Um... I'm going to take a shower before dinner." I watched her walk away disappearing into her room. I went back to the kitchen and check on the chicken parmesan and steamed broccoli that I had made. I get the plates ready and I heard a sneeze coming from her room followed by two more. I walk to her room and knock on the door.

"It's open" she says from the other side and I open the door. My breath hitched when I saw her in shorts and black t-shirt. Her wet long black, curly hair came to the middle of her back.

"Are you alright?" I asked just as she sneeze again.

"Yes, it's nothing. Is dinner ready?" she asked with a smile.

"Yes" I said and grabbed her hand. We felt tingles and she gasp lowly but did not remove her hand from mine. We walked into the kitchen together and I opened the fridge to see what we had to drink.

"What would you like to drink?" I asked her

"There's some V8 green juice in the back of the fridge" she said. I grabbed the juice and I saw it had spinach; yuck I hate spinach. I pour some in a glass and I grabbed some grape juice. We took a seat and begin to eat. I watch as she takes a bite of the chicken and moans while she chews her food. I growled lowly and she looks at me and smirks.

"Mmm... this is really good... so besides being an Alpha of your pack, you are also a great cook" she takes another bite and says very low "I could get used to this". I chuckle knowing she thought I didn't hear her, but I did. We talk, and laughed getting to know more about each other... well her getting to know more about me. When we finished, I helped her wash the dishes. We sat down on the couch and talked a little more.

"So, you're telling me that the nasty looking wolves that attacked you when you went for a run were... rogues?" she asked and takes a sip of her green juice. I scrunch my nose and she laugh. My eyes widen and my mouth opens in awe hearing her laugh. I could hear her laugh all day every day.

"Here, you have to taste it before you can make that silly face of yours" she hands me her cup and I refuse to taste it.

"Nope. I don't like spinach" I crossed my arms over my chest. She shakes her head and smiles.

"Come on don't be such a baby. Just try a little. I can promise you that you will like it" she assured me, but suddenly I get an idea.

"Only with one condition" I smirked. She arched an eyebrow and it made her look very sexy.

"What would that be?" she asked.

"If I try it then... you give me a kiss" I smirked, and she blushed.

"I-I don't think your g-girlfriend would appreciate you k-kissing someone else" she stammered. I chuckled and shook my head.

"I don't have a girlfriend. I'm single" I replied, and she was shocked at what I said. "Remember what I told you about mates?" I asked her. She nods and bit her bottom lip. "Well, that's the reason why I don't have a girlfriend because I have been waiting for my mate."

"Okay" she said softly. I grabbed the green juice and I sniffed it making her giggle. I take a sip and to my amaze I did like it. I took another sip and gave her back her cup.

"See, it wasn't that bad" she smiled.

"No, it was actually good. Now... my kiss" I said tapping my cheek with my index finger. She blushed, but leaned in to kiss my cheek, but I moved my face and she kissed the corner of my lips. She pulled back and blushed a deep red. She got up and went to the kitchen and washed her cup. We went to her room and she laid down on her bed.

"I'll be leaving now. Thank you for saving my life again and letting me stay here until I got better" I told her. I could see her sad expression, but she tried covering it up.

"Do you need me to walk with you?" She asked while she yawned.

"No. You rest" I smiled. She got up from her bed and went to her closet. She came out with a big shirt, a and a... cloak?

"It's very cold outside. It's not much, but hopefully it will keep you warm until you get back to your home" she handed me the stuff and went back inside her closet and got a pair of rainboots and socks.

"The rainboots are big because I put them on with sneakers and here are some socks" she said and pressed her lips into a thin line.

'Why do I get the feeling that she doesn't want me to leave?'

'Because she doesn't you moron' Colin growls

"You know... we have talked about me all day until now. Maybe one day I can get to know some stuff about you" I said, and I got a small smile from her.

"Maybe. There's nothing interesting about my life" she said and looked at the floor. She walked to the corner of the room and grabbed a butterfly knife and a few throwing knives and gave them to me and said "just in case. You never know what lies in the dark though I doubt you'll use them." I took them even though she was right I won't use them, but it's the thought of her doing this so I could be safe that counts. She tied the black cloak around my neck and looked me over. Everything I was wearing of hers had her scent all over it and I was loving it. She sneezed again making her loose her balance fore a second. I grabbed on to her making sure she was steady.

"Thanks" she smiled.

I looked at her for a few minutes trying to find an excuse to take her with me, but I had none. 'Something is wrong with our mate. I think she might be getting sick' Colin said 'tell her to come with us and have the doctor see her' Colin was right, and it wasn't a bad idea. I took her hand in mine making her look at me.

"Why don't you come and stay at the pack house for a few days? I would love to have your company and maybe have the pack doctor check you out. You're probably catching a cold" I told her. She shook her head and smiled "no, I probably need to do some dusting around. I'll take a raincheck on that invite to the pack house. Once you get there your Beta, Gamma and Delta would want to know what happened to you. Plus, I'm human" she said.

"It doesn't matter if you're human. My pack will never hurt you. I will never let anyone hurt you. Some of my pack members had humans for mates until they chose to be marked and mated" I told her. She yawned and laid on her bed "Maybe-" she stopped talking when she shivered. I growled lowly and she gave me a weak smile.

"You know where I live, and you're welcome to come by whenever you like" she closed her eyes and I covered her with her blanket. I went to the kitchen and got her a cup of water for when she wakes up. Then I passed my fingers through some places to see if there was any dust and I found none. He place is squeaky clean. I went back to her room place the cup of water next to her night table and I kissed her forehead. I knew I had to take care of my mate just as she took care of me, but I couldn't take her without her permission.

I will go back to the pack house leave Kaleb in charge of the pack for a few days and come back to take care of her. I went to her bathroom to get some medicine, but the bottle was empty.

'She used it all on us when we had a fever' Colin growled in frustration.

'It's okay. We'll come back with more' I assured him. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a bag. I took off all the clothes and put them in the bag and shifted to my black wolf. I grabbed the bag with my muzzle and ran back to the pack house. When I got there, I shifted back, and I put on my mate's sweatpants. I see Kaleb and Mason talking and they come running towards me when they saw me.

"Dude, are you alright?" Kaleb, my beta and best friend asked

"Yeah" I replied and looked up. The wind had picked up some and it was starting to rain.

"There's a storm coming. This is nothing" Mason said. If there's a storm coming, I needed to get my mate here to watch over her with or without her permission.

"Okay. I'm going to shower. Kaleb can you ask one of the Omegas to prepare the room next to mine. We're going to have a guest" I told him.

"Yes Alpha" he said, and I went up to my room. I went up to my room and took out my mate's cloak hanging it up in my closet. Then I folded all the other stuff and out the in the drawers and the rainboots inside the closet. I took a quick shower then dried off and put on some jeans and a white long sleeve t-shirt. I put on some sneakers and brushed my hair with my fingers. I needed to get to my mate before the storm came through. I went to the infirmary and I saw Doctor Jay there.

"Hey Alpha, what can I do for you?" Doctor Jay asked

"Hey Jay. I need something for sneezing maybe fever" I said.

"I can give you something, but you know that I will have to see the patient to make sure that is nothing serious" Doctor Jay said.

"I understand. Why don't you come with me then?" I asked him.

"Okay, give me a second to get my bag" he went into his office coming out a few seconds late with his bag. We left the pack hospital and made our way to my Land Rover.
