Maria left the frontline battles to the golems but noticed that they were only around level 70-80 so if enough soldiers worked together to attack them, they’d be overwhelmed at one point but it wasn’t like she’d just wait around and let that happen.
Her powers were in no way restricted due to the quest so she was able to completely decimate all of the soldiers, though she had to put a restraint on her powers due to the place they were fighting.
If this was out on a battlefield then maybe she could truly let loose but, Maria had to be careful with her usage of spells and skills because she didn’t want to destroy her mentor’s home.
