Noah's POV.
High School had ended, summer holidays had finished so today I start Long Hill College along with my 3 best friends; Jack, Robbie, and Luke. I was just finishing my breakfast when I heard a car horn. "That must be Jack," I thought, so I grabbed my bag from the kitchen table, shouted bye to my Dad and jumped into Jack's black fiesta with tinted windows and loud music.
"Alright boys!" I shout over the music to Luke, Jack and Robbie.
We all punched each other's shoulders, chuckling as we did so. Ten minutes later we arrive. We all got out of the car and stood next to it for a few minutes just chatting, then Kirsty and her two friends; Lucy and Hayley, walk up to us.
"Hey babe," I say wrapping my arm round Kirsty's shoulder and place a kiss on the top of her head. We all begin walking towards the entrance to the College together and separate once we're inside to find our lockers. Jack and Luke had found theirs, put their things into it and came over to stand by me while I put my bag and coat in mine. Luke started talking about a party we'd been invited to on Saturday night at Harry's house, when I hear a loud bang and get thumped in the back. I turn around expecting it to be Adam, someone I really don't get on with, so I shout, "Watch it!" I realise I'm not looking at Adam, I'm looking at a very wet, slim, long haired, blonde girl I'd never seen before. She got up and mumbled some words at me, then ran off. Everyone in the hallway, including me, were laughing. I turned to see that Jack and Luke were also laughing. I asked them what happened.
"You should have seen her Noah, she literally just ice skated through the door and crashed into you after hitting the lockers. It was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time," chuckled Luke.
I began to laugh with them, wishing I could have seen it all, "Her top was so wet guys, I could see her bra. Not bad," I joked and we all childishly high fived each other.
First lesson was Biology, but I didn't want to go, so I asked the boys if they wanted to bunk off and go find a place to hang out. We began walking around the College looking for somewhere to hide for a bit. I tell them I need the toilet and I'll message them when I'm done to find out where they are, but as I walked round the corner I saw the blonde haired girl that crashed into me earlier.
I stood there and shouted, "Oh look, it's slip girl!"
She turned around looking for the person whose voice she heard. Then she saw me. She just turned around and carried on walking.
"Did you enjoy your trip?" I shout again, laughing hysterically.
This time she didn't turn around and just kept on walking. I followed. Her steps became quicker, so I quickened mine. Next she dived into a classroom, room 502, Biology. I kind of wished I wasn't bunking off with the boys now, would have been fun to see her face as I walked in through the door. I could have teased her a bit more throughout the class too. It's not that I don't like her or anything, It's just who I am, I do it to everyone, I enjoy teasing people and winding them up. I do have a bit of a reputation that has followed me from High School as being the bad boy, but I'd say I'm not as bad as I used to be. My Mum was the cause of most of my problems, even though she's been out of our lives a long time now, I still have the memories and the nightmares. I must admit though, I'm not so aggressive and angry as much as I used to be, and the boys would say the same thing.
After I'd been to the toilet I walked to a classroom, Room 608, where Robbie had messaged me to say meet them.
"Where's Jack?" I ask them.
"He's gone to meet Megan, he said he'll catch us up" Luke responds.
Megan is Jack's girlfriend, they've been seeing each other for 2 months now. They got together not long before we broke up for the summer holidays. All of a sudden we hear a loud thud, I turn to where the noise came from and see Jack lying on the floor and Adam standing in the doorway with a stupid grin on his face.
"Look who it is!" Snarls Adam. He's a big lad, about 6 ft 2, with dark, curly, wild looking hair.
"What do you want Adam!" I shout at him, walking towards him. I get close to his face and he just laughs.
"Just came to say that I enjoyed Kirsty's company on the weekend," Adam replied with a wicked grin on his face.
I felt myself ready to explode on him. I pushed him through the door into the corridor. Adam hit the wall with a thud. I ran to him and grabbed his top with one of my fists and held my other hand in a fist ready to hit him. I wanted to hit him so hard, but as I was about to make a swing for him, Adam gripped my top and pushed me against the opposite wall.
"Say hello to Kirsty for me," He sniggered.
I pushed him again and quickly threw my fist towards his face, which hit him square in the eye. Adam made a gnarly sound and took a swing back at me which hit me right in the nose. Blood immediately poured down my mouth and chin. I went to run at him again but the boys came out and got in the way. Luke told Adam to get lost and off he went laughing to himself. I turned and punched the wall. How dare he talk about Kirsty like that! The boys went back into the classroom and asked me to join them. We all sat down in silence for a few minutes until Jack piped up and said, "Don't let him get to you Noah. You know what he's like. He's a Liar. He always lies."
"I didn't see Kirsty on the weekend, she said had some family thing going on and I couldn't come, what if he's telling the truth this time?" I ask them with an annoyed, angry tone.
"Ask her Noah. See what she has to say about it," answered Robbie.
Then Luke piped in, "You could always ask her friends what they did on the weekend and if Kirsty was with them?"
So that's what I planned to do. I planned to do some investigating before asking her outright. I can't be with a liar. I had enough of this crap from my Mother. By the end of the first lesson I wasn't ready to go to my next lesson so I stayed in the classroom on my own while the boys all went to class. I felt like being on my own. It wasn't because I loved Kirsty that I was angry because I didn't. I didn't love her. She was just fun to be around sometimes. It was that she may have lied to me about where she was and had been with Adam! Of all the people! Why did he have to choose this College to go to. Kirsty knew that me and Adam hated each other, so if this is all true, what he's saying, then we're done. For good. I knew where she was planning to be at lunch time, so I had to try and get to the bottom of it before I saw her. Once I heard the bell for the end of second lesson, I went to find Hayley. After a few minutes I saw her about to walk into the toilet and luckily for me she wasn't with Kirsty. I waited outside the door and when she came out of the door I grabbed her arm and pulled her to the side.
"Noah! What are you doing!" She said, startled by what had just happened.
"I need to talk to you!" I demanded. "What did you guys do on the weekend?" I asked her in an annoyed tone.
"We went to a party Noah, you know that. Kirsty told you!" She said annoyed.
"Where was this party?" I asked sternly.
"At Scott's," She replied. "You were invited, why didn't you come?"
"Ah just didn't fancy it," I lied but remember being told about it. I didn't want to hang around with Adam and his mates. I hated the lot of them so why would I want to hang out with them on the weekend. The boys and I just chilled out at Jack's playing video games and drinking. I needed to speak to Luke. He'd tell me if there was anything to Adam's story or not. I knew he had Psychology next so I went to the science department to see if I could find him, I also messaged him to say I needed to speak with him. He replied quite quickly, he must have been checking his phone when I messaged. He told me the room number so I meet him there. I dragged him away from all the people to talk a bit more privately without people over hearing our conversation.
"Did you hear of anything about the party at Scott's last weekend?" I asked him straight.
"I heard one of Adam's stooges took a beating," He said with a chuckle.
"Anything about Kirsty or Adam?" I ask.
"I only heard that Adam was chasing after her like a little lost puppy but nothing else," He answered and chuckled.
"So why did Kirsty lie to me about a family gathering on the weekend and go to the party? "I asked myself more than Luke.
He replied, "Maybe because you both knew Adam was going and she knew how you would feel if she went without you."
I was so angry, I just stormed away leaving Luke standing there. I decided to go to my next class, but after about 10 maybe 15 minutes, the teacher kicked me out for disrupting the class. I just couldn't get it out my mind and I was taking my anger out on everyone who spoke to me, including the teacher. He wasn't best pleased with my attitude so out I went. I went to see if that classroom, 608, was empty, which it was, and paced back and forth waiting for the sound of the lunch bell. It felt like a few hours went by until I heard it, but it had only been 30 minutes. I left the classroom and walked outside the building and bumped into Jack and Robbie. I didn't speak to them, my head was solely on one thing. Kirsty. I headed toward the canteen when I spotted slip girl. I didn't know her name so slip girl seemed fitting right now.
I blocked her path with my shadow and said, "Watch where you're walking now slippy."
She looked towards me but she didn't have time to say anything. Someone else shouted "Leave her alone Noah!" It was Rachel. I enjoyed messing with Rachel, she was so easy to get a reaction from.
I walked up to her to the point where are clothes were touching. I looked down at her and said, "And what are you going to do about it princess?"
"Just go Noah!" She says agitatedly.
I walked away laughing and so did Robbie and Jack. They knew I was just messing around. We walked toward the canteen and I could see Kirsty talking with Lucy and Hayley. I walked up to her, grabbed her arm and pulled her away from them, took her round the side of the canteen away from the crowd of people waiting to get food and pushed her against the wall.
"That hurts Noah!" She scolded me.
"That's the least you deserve!" I sniped at her. "Did you think you could keep your little secret about going to the party and making out with Adam?" I shouted.
"W...w..what?" She replied shakily. "I didn't do anything with Adam, but I did go to the party!"
"How am I supposed to believe you when you lied to me about going to the party?" I asked her.
"I know I did wrong in lying to you, but you got to believe me, I didn't do anything with Adam!" She shouted back at me with tears filling her eyes.
"We're done!" I said turning away from her, I punched the wall as I walked away and saw her jump in the corner of my eye.
Now I wasn't hungry, just angry. I needed to calm down so I went to the school gym and hit a punchbag to try and release all this anger. I grabbed a quick shower, changed and decided I'd go to the last class of the day.... Math. When I walked into the room I saw slippy digging around in her bag. I don't think she saw me because her hair was dangling all around her face, so I sat down a few desks away and just watched her. I had this feeling she was a little clumsy and shy. She obviously gets embarrassed way too easily. Then she spotted me and stared, I don't think she realised she was doing it because after a few seconds she quickly blinked her eyes and shuffled in her seat to pretend to read the book on her desk. The reason I know she was pretending was that the book was upside down. I let out a snigger and turned round to talk to Jack, I told him me and Kirsty were finished. He said random things to try and make me laugh, which it did a little, then the teacher walked in. It was the most boring lesson. Maybe because of the ups and downs of the day, I just didn't want to be there. I was exhausted from all the drama and just wanted to get out of here. I did learn that slip girl's name was Georgia though. It was a relief to hear the bell for the end of the lesson and finally home time. I had also managed to stay through a full lesson, not that I remember anything that was said. Grabbing my bag, I went to the locker to get my coat, when I saw Georgia heading towards the exit. Wanting to mess with her one last time today, to cheer myself up, I snuck past her and waited for her to walk through the door, then I pounced.
"What do you want?" She asked angrily.
"Nothing," I say calmly, "Have a nice evening slippy, I look forward to a replay tomorrow morning," And I walk away laughing. Seeing her getting angry makes all this worth it. I see the boys standing next to Jack's car. As I walk towards them I shout, "Alright boys, where we going then?"
Luke, Jack and Robbie look at me, then look at each other and unison all say, "yours!"
We all laughed, jumped into the car and drove to my house. Now I did live with my Dad, but my family was very wealthy due to Dad's job, so he bought me my own little condo. I say little as it's smaller than the house I stay in with my Dad, but it's still quite large. Dad bought it for me when things got tough with Mum and I could go and stay there if I needed some time out. Talking about my Mum is hard for me, the boys know what went on as we have known each other from quite a young age. We know everything about each other, there's no secrets.
Arriving at my condo, Jack parked the car in the driveway, I got out and unlocked the door to which they all followed me into the house and all gathered on the sofa's around the TV in the living room. Luke turned on the television and Robbie and I grabbed some bottles and snacks. We each took turns competing against each other on Fifa, then a few drinks later we called it a night, we had school in the morning. After saying bye to my mates I messaged Dad to say I was at the condo and not to worry, then I grabbed a quick shower and jumped into bed. I checked my phone before I went to sleep to check Dad had received my message and realised I hadn't heard anything from Kirsty since I ended our relationship. I was glad about that, I really didn't want the hassle. She's not in my life anymore and I'm happy with that. Time to enjoy single life again.
The next morning I woke up around 7.30, made some toast, then had a shower. I changed into some grey joggers, a white t-shirt and a zip up black jacket, as I had Rugby practice after College today, then grabbed my car keys and drove myself to school. Looking around for Jack's car, I parked up after not being able to find it and walked towards the entrance to the school alone. I took my phone out of my pocket and was about to message Jack when...THUMP.... My phone flew from my hand and while trying to catch it, I tripped over something on the floor but luckily I didn't fall flat on my face, I managed to stay on my feet. Turning around to see what I tripped over I noticed Georgia on her hands and knees, picking up her bag from the floor and my phone. Immediately I stomped up to her and snatched my phone out of her hand and shouted at her.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? Was one day of slip ups not enough for you?"
"Noah.....sorry.......accident," She managed to splutter.
"Just get lost. You need to start looking where you're going," I screamed. Then I realised I was grabbing hold of her wrists.
"Noah.....you're.....hurting....me," she stuttered, tears in her eyes.
Quickly I let go of her wrists and Georgia ran off. I linked my fingers behind my head and let out a sigh. What is it with this girl, I enjoyed winding her up yesterday but today she's really starting to annoy me.
"Oi, loverboy!" Someone called out.
I looked around and saw Adam, grinning from ear to ear. Why does this i***t keep talking to me, why can't he just stay away from me? I gave him the middle finger and walked off towards first lesson. I wasn't in the mood to deal with him today. My phone began ringing in my pocket so I pulled it out and saw it was Dad.
"Hey Dad," I answer.
"Hey son," Hey replies, "What's your plans for after school today?" He asked.
"No plans Dad, why what's up?
"I want you to meet someone. I was going to do this yesterday, but if you're OK with it I thought we could do it tonight instead?
"umm...yeah....sure.....suppose so Dad."
"Great, thanks son. See you later."
"Bye Dad."
Entering the class I felt confused. Automatically I assume he's been dating. I didn't know Dad was meeting up with anyone. He was never home much, but he was always away on a business trip or in his work office. Then again, I did stay in the condo a lot so maybe he was meeting up with her then. I wonder who it is. Do I know her? Sitting down at my desk I had all these questions going through my mind.
"Noah!......Noah!" Someone was calling me. I looked around and saw Jack on the other side of the room.
"Hey!" I smile at him. He looked at me quizzically. I could tell he knew something was up. "I'll tell you later," I say as quietly as I can so not to be heard by everyone in the room. Luckily the teacher hadn't arrived yet so the room was filled with noise from people's chatter. I couldn't focus much in class, my mind kept drifting to who I would be introduced to tonight.
After class I walked to the next lesson with Jack and told him about what Dad had said on the phone.
"That's ok though right?" He asked me, "Isn't it good if he's met someone new? He deserves to be happy with what he's been through?"
"I know," I reply, "I'm just worried that the relationship will turn out the same as it did with Mum and him. I don't think I could go through that again."
"That was totally different Noah and you know that, not every woman your Dad meets will be like her," He reminded me.
We walked into the classroom for Biology, which I didn't turn up to yesterday, and I saw Georgia sitting in the back. There was an empty desk next to her so I went to sit in it. I thought winding her up during class would take me mind off things for a bit. I sat sideways on my chair with my elbow on the desk and my fist leaning against the side of my head and just stared at her. I could see her fidgeting in her seat and I smirked.
"Really?" She said and turned to look at me with a defeated look on her face.
"Go on any more trips today slippy?" I ask her while laughing. "Do I get an apology for this morning, you could have broken my phone!" I say sternly.
"Yeah, sure, sorry," She mumbles solemnly.
"You could say it with meaning, I think you need extra tutoring in walking!" I could feel myself getting angry. This girl just didn't seem to care about the trouble she causes. One day she's going to get into trouble for her clumsy behaviour.
"By the way, my name is Georgia, not slippy, stop being so damn rude!" She glared at me.
I just laughed and said, "I know, but I prefer slippy, it suits you better."
She rolls her eyes at me just as the teacher walks in. Turning to face the front of the class, the teacher announces we'll be doing a practical activity in pairs. I look over to Jack, and nod to say we'd be partners but the teacher has other ideas.
"I will put all of your names into a bowl and pull out 2 names at a time. They will be the partners," He says, everyone grumbles.
He starts pulling names out of the bowl, first up was Amy and Paul. Next was George and Fred. A couple of minutes later he pulls out Jack and....... "please be me," I hoped, but no it was Rachel. Then I heard my name.
"Noah and...... Georgia," I grumbled slightly but then thought this will be fun. I turned to look at her and wave at her with a goofy smile. She dropped her head onto her folded arms on the desk and I laughed.
The teacher came round with different animal hearts and as partners we had to dissect them and label all the parts we could see. We were all given gloves and scalpels and told to work together to figure out all the parts. The partners with the most correct answers were awarded with vouchers for a free pizza. I looked at Georgia and went over to her desk holding a pig's heart. I dropped it on the desk with a SPLAT!
"EWWW!" Georgia yelled. The juice from the heart had splattered over her face. I couldn't help but laugh hysterically. She looked at me. If eyes could kill I would have died right there and then. Reaching into her bag she pulled out a pack of wet wipes and wiped her face.
"YOU ARE SUCH AN ASS!" She screeched, making heads turn to look at us. I just couldn't stop laughing. We did the rest of the project in silence, apart from a few giggles from me every now and again. All I got from her were dirty looks. When the bell sounded for the end of class, Georgia couldn't get out of there fast enough. I shook my head, looked down at my bag to pick it up and let out a sigh, then I walked out of the room catching up to Jack. He asked why Georgia yelled at me and I told him. He laughed too. We were walking along the corridor laughing and messing around when I heard a commotion going on. There was shouting and loud banging noises. Jack and I strutted over to take a closer look at what was happening. I saw Adam and his cronies gathered around someone. I couldn't quite see passed Adam who it was so I moved around the group to take a closer look. Eventually I could make out who it was. It was Robbie. Anger quickly took over and I jumped in between Robbie and Adam.
"What the hell Adam!" I screamed at him.
"This is none of your business Noah, now get lost!" He said angrily and tried to push me out the way.
I pushed him back and shouted, "Go find somewhere else to take your s****l frustration out on! Kirsty not give into your advances!"
Adam chuckled, "You wish that is what this is about don't you! But surely I'd be taking my anger out on you and not him if it was about that don't you think!" Then he turned around and walked away, taking his gang with him.
I helped Robbie to his feet. "What was all that about?" I asked him.
Robbie looked down at the floor with a sad look and rubbed the back of his head. "He's pissed because I told him he was a girlfriend stealer and an egotistic prick," He told me. But I wasn't convinced. There was something he wasn't telling me, but I will question him about it another time. Walking to my next lesson I see Georgia. She was on her phone, crying. As I walked passed her I made sure to bump into her arm. She juggled her phone trying not to drop it and I just laughed and walked away.
"That was mean!" Jack scolded me, "Can't you see she's upset, you didn't need to bump into her like that!"
"She deserved it after all the times she's 'bumped' into me!" I snapped back, but I did feel a bit guilty. Maybe I'll apologise in Math class. Going into Math I prepared myself to apologise to Georgia, but she wasn't there. This got me curious, she didn't seem the type to bunk off a lesson. After that I didn't see her for the rest of the day.
