During Literature class, Ryan and Mandy continued their work on Pride and Prejudice. While the boy highlighted excerpts and pointed out important phrases, she was amazed to see how Jane Austen was a woman ahead of her time, addressing topics that were still very current, such as the position of women in society, female empowerment and feminism itself, with very brave young women, at a time when the only acceptable role for a woman was to be a wife and mother.
