Days had already passed since the attack on the Dusk Hunters happened. Thanks to the regenerative healing ability and the Alpha blood in him, Rafael was fully healed bearing a little mark on his back caused by the arrow.
"Did you find something about him?" he asked his beta. Morgan was sitting in the chair in front of Rafael holding a brown envelope with him. It's now past eight in the morning.
"We did a rough sketch of him, Alpha," Morgan said and put the envelope down. "After our warriors chased him, it was the only features we could get out of him," he added. Rafael took it and went to find out what's inside. It was a rough sketch of a man. Chiseled jaw, brunette hair, and has a strong pair eyes. A tattoo on his face down to his neck caught his attention.
"Viper?" he asked. Morgan nodded his head. Rafael cursed under his breath. He took his phone out and dialed Jarvis' phone number.
"I need your help," he said after Jarvis answered the phone. There was a long paused on the other line. As much as he hated asking for the warlock's help, it is necessary.
"What is it all about?" Jarvis said and heaved a sigh.
"I'll tell you later," he said and quickly dropped the call. "Prepare the car, Morgan. We are going to Mondragon's shop," he said while holding the sketch. Morgan bowed his head and went out of the office. He massage his head, a bad head ache was about to come and it's all because of that motherfvcker who shot him.
A knocked snapped him out of his thoughts. Grace entered with a cup of coffee in her hand. Rafael smiled at her.
"Are you busy?" she softly asked seeing the messily table full of papers. Rafael shook his head.
"Come here," Rafael said. Grace gently put the coffee down and sat on his lap. Rafael put his head on her back while snaked his arms around her waist. Grace smelled like flowers.
"Are you alright?" Grace asked and brush his hair. Rafael nodded his head. He needs to be alright as he is the Alpha of his pack. "By the way, I really want to invite Veronica out. She's always staying in her room," Grace said and pouted her lips. Hearing his mate's name, Rafael stiffened and went cold as ice. He still doesn't have a concrete plan on what to do with her but rejection is not in his options, it will never be.
"Are you listening to me?" Grace spoke to him gently. He always wondered if Grace ever get mad at someone or to something. She emitted a kind aura on her. She's a weak woman unable to hurt someone.
"I'm sorry, I have to go," Rafael lied. Grace smiled at her and stood up, giving him a peck on the cheeks.
"Be safe, babe," she said. Rafael took his cloak and went outside. He glanced at his mate's room and left the house. He wanted to get some fresh air. His heart tightened thinking of those two.
Veronica rubbed her bleary eyes and yawned as the light of the sun entered the room. She slowly sat up and leaned on the head board. Remembering what happened in Rafael's room sent her millions of sparks and butterflies all over her stomach. The way Rafael touched her hand as if he never wanted to let it go, it felt great but those feelings was cut too short.
"Veronica? Are you in there?" A soft voice asked after knocking three times on her door room. It was none other than Rafael's fiancée.
"Yes, be there in a minute," she answered and stood up.
Veronica doesn't hate Grace. That woman doesn't even have a slightest idea of what's happening around her. She's oblivious to the fact the Veronica is Rafael's destined mate. After fixing herself, Veronica opened the door.
"Are you doing something?" she meekly asked. Veronica shook her head. Rafael took her phone and she forgot to tell him to give it back.
"Great! Would you mind accompanying me to the mall?" Grace asked, her eyes glistening with hope. Veronica wanted to turn her down. Who would want to join the fiancée of her mate? Definitely not her but Grace was too bubbly and won't take a no for an answer.
Veronica went down the stairs wearing her high waisted jeans and crop top off shoulder that hugged her, showing her curvaceous body. She also wore her iconic red lipstick and a sling bag to match her outfit.
"You looked pretty, V!" Rachel said and clung to her. Grace smiled at her and the three went out of the pack house accompanied by the warriors.
Rafael on the other hand sipped a coffee he ordered in Jarvis' shop. He wasn't able to drink the one that Grace gave to him. He was sitting on the couch, waiting for Jarvis to finished tattooing his customer. Jarvis' friend, Lou, stared at him.
"Here to get a new ink?" he asked, starting a conversation with him. Rafael shook his head. He wasn't interested on the tattoo right now. What he needs is to know who the hell is viper.
"Lou, get us a snack, please," Jarvis said while coming out of the room full of sweats. He sure fvcked his customer hard. "Rafael, come with me," he added and went to Lou's own private room. Rafael scoffed as he don't want to take orders coming from his rival but he's got no other choice.
Jarvis sat on the chair and took a clean towel on Lou's drawer to wiped his sweat away. Rafael entered and sat on the couch.
"Is Veronica alright?" Jarvis suddenly asked. He's worried about his friend. Rafael's forehead creased. His jaw tightened hearing Jarvis say his mate's name. He clenched and unclenched his fist.
"She's fvcking fine, Mondragon," he said in a serious manner.
"Dude, chill. I just wanted to know if she's doing okay because if she's not, I will take her away from you," Jarvis said and smiled at him. Rafael angrily slammed his fists on the glass table and glared at Jarvis. No one will take away what's his. Not even the warlock in front of him.
"Try it then, Mondragon. I dare you." He slowly growled and challenged him. Jarvis knowingly smiled and drink the wine he poured on his cup.
"What do you want, Fortalejo?" he asked. Rafael took the envelope out and gave it to him. Jarvis grabbed it and examined what's inside.
"Do you know him?" Rafael asked. "That viper tattoo on his face down to his neck. You did that right?" he added.
"Yeah, I remembered I did this years ago. It's Gideon, a fellow warlock," he said and put the sketch down. "I heard he was exiled from the coven for breaking the rules," he added and clasped his hand.
"Where do you think he's hiding right now?" Rafael asked, pacing in the room back and forth.
"I don't know," Jarvis honestly said. "Possibly on the pubs or inn. He can't freely roam around if that's what you want to hear," he added and shrugged his shoulders. Not until Gideon found a new coven, he will be treated as enemy of the wizards.
"That fvcking bastard put an arrow on my back. He was with the rogues," Rafael said. He's burning with hatred right now. The Alpha wolf in him wanted to kill that warlock and tear him to pieces until no one left of him.
"I'll send my men out and see what can I do. I will tell you once I got the information," Jarvis said and stood up. Rafael nodded his head in response.
"Send my regards to Veronica," Jarvis said.
"In your fvcking dreams, Mondragon," Rafael spat and left the room, leaving Jarvis all alone. He went out of his tattoo shop and let Morgan drove the car back to the pack.
