I stepped back when Stanton pulled me off of him and turned to Steven. He was building a fireball and the light from the flames cast shadows on his face that made him look crazed. Suddenly, his eyes widened and his mouth dropped open in surprise.
“I was right! He’s the beast! Clover, get away from him!” He shouted.
“No. You’re wrong, Steven. You’re wrong about everything. I’m not scared of his temper. I am scared that you’re putting yourself in danger over this delusion that I’m your soulmate. Put that fireball out, Steven.” I said.
