I told Jen to run home and change instead of borrowing something from Clover’s closet. She agreed and headed out. Val and I went downstairs. Kinlee was waiting for us outside the shop with Nixie.
After unlocking the door, I pulled them aside and explained the situation. Nixie was, rightly, worried. It was hard to imagine someone as strong as Clover being hurt like that.
“I’ll give up my day off. We need all hands on deck for this. Clover needs us.” She said.
“We functioned just fine with only five employees and everyone having their day off, Nix. I am planning to have the shop closed next Monday. We’ll still come in. We need to know if Clover is really herself.” I told her.
