Flora pov
I stood rooted in place, contemplating whether to turn around and walk away.
I don't need to turn around to know who is behind me. I can already imagine the mockery look on her face.
Taking a deep breath, I turn around, plastering a fake smile on my face.
“ Do you need something, Bailey?” I ask, keeping my composure.
Bailey smiles at me, disdain apparent on her face.
“ Just came to see you off, sister.” The words are uttered slowly, intentionally.
“ After all, who knows when I'll see you again or if I'll ever do.” She adds with a mysterious smile.
I don't know why her words give me a bad feeling but I shove that aside.
Bailey is here to taunt me and I am not going to let her walk all over me.
“ Don't worry, it's not that easy to get rid of me.” I answer back, grinning.
Bailey drops her smile and replaces it with a scowl.
“ I have been patient with you for three years, Flora. Don't push your luck. If I see your ugly face again, you won't like what I'll do.” She warns but I just scoff.
“Should I be scared? Run along Bailey, go play house with Valen. You two are perfect for each other.” casting one last glance at her, I step inside my car and drive away.

I look at the mirror and I smile anxiously. The woman in the reflection is beautiful. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that I am the woman. But that's not the source of my anxiety.
My best friend's crazy Friday night idea is what's making me scared.
She made me wear a blue bodycon dress that barely touches my knees. The deep neckline makes my cleavage pop out but not too exposing.
The door slides open and Kiran stands there, leaning against the doorframe.
“ I am seriously going to get angry if you keep delaying. I don't intend to miss the best spot to hunt for prey.” Kiran says and I giggle.
Trust her to use insanely weird yet befitting words to describe things.
Taking a deep breath, I lift my butt up the chair and turn around to face kiran.
An audible gasp escaped her lips making me feel conscious of myself.
“ Is it that bad? I told you this was a bad idea.” I say, trying to pull my dress.
“ Screw that. You look hot, woman!” Kiran shrieks, her eyes filled with pleasant surprise.
“ Damn you woman! I can't believe you've been hiding those assets from me!” She gives me an exaggerated grin.
“ You should bless the heavens that I am straight. Otherwise you would be under me, naked as we speak.” I frown at her choice of words. I have been doing that lately and trying to get used to her way of speaking.
“ Eeew! That's gross.” I scrunch my nose in disgust.
Kiran bursts out laughing from my antics.
“ Seriously girl, tonight you are going to have dozens of men fighting to have a taste of your juicy self.” Kiran giggles, somehow finding the image in her mind funny.
“ I hope not. I just want to get wasted.” I reply.
“ And get laid.” Kiran adds, wriggling her brows mischievously at me.
I find myself rolling my eyes. Kiran walks to me, taking my hand in hers.
“ You need this Flora. Just for tonight. Forget all about the pain, the betrayal, the failed marriage…Forget about that bastard and prove to yourself that even without him, you can be happy.
Prove to yourself that everything isn't about pleasing him but yourself.” Kiran says, her voice soft yet stern.
Yes. That's the goal tonight.
Two weeks ago, my world crumbled and I almost lost my life. After leaving the pack with a broken heart, I was attacked on my way to the city.
At that moment, I remembered Bailey’s words when we parted. Did she arrange that attack?
Last I remember was the rogues subduing me and trying to force themselves on me. The next time, I woke up in an unfamiliar place.
Scared, I did what I thought about that moment; run away. Thankfully, I found my way to Kiran's place who helped me get accepted in her pack.
Kiran, my best friend, helped me pick up my life and move on.
She has been here for me, more than anyone else has ever been.
In this new city and pack, I found myself a second home.
Kiran has been the sister Bailey was never to me. She even encouraged me to take training lessons together with the pack.I can't let her efforts to help me gather myself up go to waste and that's why I agreed when she made a rather ridiculous proposal to spend the weekend in a club.
“ Let's do this.” I say with a smile and Kiran flashes me her own.
Her eyes however linger on the bracelet adjourning my wrist.
“ If I didn't know any better, I would have told you to get rid of that but she is still your sister.” Kiran says, referring to the sisterhood bracelet Bailey gave me.
Three years ago, after Valen and I got married, Bailey was devastated but after some time, she made peace with the fact that Valen was married to me.
To show that she had accepted our relationship, she gifted me the bracelet and instructed me to always wear it.
I don't know why I haven't gotten rid of it after everything. Maybe I still hope for…
I shake my head immediately to keep those thoughts off my mind.
Kiran and I leave the house and she drives us to our destination.
If someone told me two weeks ago that I would stand outside a club dressed in almost nothing, I would have laughed it off as insanity.
Taking my hand, she leads me inside. Kiran says something to the guards and they allow us to pass.
“ What did you tell them?” I ask, my curiosity piqued.
“ A secret identification for pack members.” She replies and I nod.
These two weeks, I have seen the difference of living in the two packs.
While my former pack is in a remote town, Lake pack covers the whole city, minus the humans living among us.
Loud music assaults my ears the moment we step inside the large arena-like club.
A huge dance floor stands proudly at the centre of the arena with a bar and a lounge surrounding it.
We head to the bar and i flop on a chair by the counter.
“ Good evening ladies, what can I get you?” A dirty blonde bartender asks.
His eyes scan Kiran and he looks away shyly.
“ Like what you see?” Kiran winks.
“ How about you ditch your shift tonight and I turn you to my drink? I'll make it worth it.” Kiran proposes and my ears burn for the guy's sake.
Damn! That was straightforward and provocative.
The guy just grins at Kiran and refrains from answering.
“ How about you surprise us tonight? I don't have any drink in mind.” Kiran adds and the guy nods.
After a series of pouring and shaking, he hands us a pink coloured drink. Kiran takes a sip and smiles in appreciation.
“ I'll assume this is how you taste. Find me if you change your mind about my offer.” Kiran winks at the blonde who smiles before moving to serve the next customer.
“ See you around and don't forget to have fun. Let me find myself a hulk to water my garden.” With a naughty smile, Kiran walks away.
I take a sip of my drink and I have to admit, it's a pleasant surprise.
My eyes scan the area, taking on the decor and structure of the club.
It's my first time in a place like this and I have to admit, it's beautiful here.
I feel so out of place just sipping my drink but since I am not Kiran, I decide to just enjoy myself.
Glass after the other and I start feeling dizzy. Werewolves don't get affected by alcohol but since I lost my wolf that fateful night, I am as good as a human.
“ You should take a break on that drink.”
