Chapter 17

1109 Words
"It's okay! Skye, it's okay! I promise we're gonna get out of this!" I try to calm my breathing as best I can. How Stark and I ended up tied in ropes and thrown over people's shoulders I can't exactly be sure. One minute we parked at the end of my parents driveway. Since the holidays are over, security is back on duty. The gates we're locked again so we walked up to them. Unfortunately, we didn't even get to ring the buzzer before being ambushed by eleven full grown beasts of men. These savages tied us up and threw us over the shoulders of their two largest men. The only thing I can't figure out is why they're bringing us to the house. If they were kidnappers wouldn't they walk away from the property? "I'm holding this against you forever!" I yell to my now boyfriend. Him and his stupid ideas. Go see your family, he said. They'll still love you, he said. Well now I'm being snatched up by strangers! He couldn't have had a worse idea if he tried. The hooting of the eleven heathens come to a stop as they arrive on the porch. One rings the doorbell and another yells, "We got em!" In an instant the door is open and a flood of voices breaks through our current situation. "Skye!" "You tied her up?!" "Put her down you fool!" "Where have you been baby girl?!" The buffoon holding me sets me on the ground and begins unraveling the rope. As soon as I'm free, arms engulf me and I can no longer see the light of day. "I'm trapped," I yell to my blubbering brothers. They release me immediatley and Starks arms encircle me next. Hard stares from my brothers shoot at us and I'm pulled from behind. Two broad chests that I recognize to be my father's entrap me between them. "Baby girl where have you been?!" "Angel, where'd that bastard go!?" I know they care now, but it's only because I haven't told them. I feel myself tear up. This is the last time they will want to hug me. "You don't have to worry about him...sirs," Stark says uncertainly. It should have been clear from the news that I have two father's, but he still seems unsure of how to address them. "He won't ever bother her again." Daddy Jack's eyes narrow at him begrudgingly. "And who are you?" I put a hand on each father's cheek and give them both kisses. "He helped me. You have him to thank andimayormaynotbedatinghim," I rush out in one breath of air. Daddy Jack looks confused , but daddy Kai narrows his eyes. "Your taking advantage of my daughter in her vulnerable state? After she was just kidnapped?!" I shake my head frantically. "It's not like that daddy! He's been helping me! He got me away from Archer and made sure he could never come near me again!" Daddy Jack, though he holds some doubt in his eyes, also retains a look of respect. "All that aside, who are these heathens and why did they tie us up and bring us here!" Kaine and Kalona stractch their necks nervously. "Well," Kaine starts. "You were missing and the cops couldn't find you..." Kalona cuts in quite blunty then. "We may have brought in our entire football team to hunt you down." "Go Basilisks!" I hear the players hooting from behind me. "Well I think we have alot to talk about." ................................ Daddy Kai and daddy Jack close my bedroom door behind us. They are the only ones I wanted to talk to. Stark sits in the livingroom with my mom and brothers, probably being interrogated. Mentally, I prepare myself for the conversation that will get me disowned. It takes a moment to calm my racing heart, but when I do, I spount out every detail. Even the things I left out when telling James all come to light. It takes a good twenty minutes for every detail to be explained, but by the time I finish, tears roll down my face and both my fathers look ghostly pale and a bit dangerous honestly. Daddy Kai holds me tight and wipes the never ending river of tears off my cheeks. Daddy Jack doesn't move a muscle. He sits incredibly still, that is until he processes everything. When all the information registers in his mind, he stands reaching for an old pottery vase and chucking it across the room. I jump as it smashes against the wall, shards flying everywhere. "I'm going to make a few calls," he growls before walking to the door. He stops in place, seeming to remember something. Turning on his heel he rushes back and gives my forehead a kiss. "I'll kill him," he mumbles before rushing back out of the room. I believe it when he says that, but at the moment I don't care. What confuses me is daddy Kai. He's still hugging me. I told him everything and he's still touching me. "You hate me don't you?" Daddy Kai nearly chokes with my accusation. Sounding genuinely hurt, he asks, "Did you really think I would? Nobody is going to love you less just because of what that bastard did to you sweetheart. We all still love you very much!" I cry harder with relief. Stark was right. Stark! He's been down there with my brother for a long time. "Daddy we left Stark with the wolves!" He chuckles and let's me jump on his back. "Then let's go save the boy." I'm glad the story makes him feel better about me being with Stark. It certainly helped that I promised to visit three days a week at the least. The only downside is my dad's said they would make surprise appearances every now and then. What if I'm not home? What if I am home and Stark and I are watching an R rated movie without parental supervision? All my thoughts are cut short when daddy Kai leads us to the living room. "What the hell is this?!" Daddy Kai booms at the sight before us. All my brothers and Stark, eleven in total, face the eleven now fully geared football players, all with fury in their eyes. Stark holds a big pink pillow under his arm and copies the ready position of all the other men. At the sound of my father's voice, every head turns towards us and their faces turns guilty. "It's not what it looks like I swear!" Jonah says. Quite frankly, I don't even know what it’s supposed to look like.
