Chapter 13

948 Words
Mick's eyes widen when he realizes it me he's looking at. I didn't have my ID so im relying on Archers promise that I would just get through without one. Mick here however, won't let me in. "He was looking for you! Said you ran off and he needed to find you. Just let me call him up here real quick." I shake my head furiously and tell Mick I want to surprise him. I did not take a bus only to be caught by my ex. Finally, I'm allowed in and I hide my face as much as I can. Since it's the championships, the seats are almost all filled, but the ones always reserved for Natalia and I are open. Watching what seems to be the third fight of the night already, I wonder why my best friend hasn't come here looking for me? Its the first place I'd look for her, but she hasn't even shown up since I've been gone. In fact, I haven't seen her since before the dinner between James, Archer, and I. Weird. Instead of worrying, I decide to focus on the fight. It seems that I missed most of the one I walked in on considering the tap out just ensued. I pay better attention as I see the final two fighters come out. In fact, they are the only things I can pay attention to right now. Archer and Stark. Archer seems hyped up, sure of his win. I know his training didn't change this season though. He's at the same skill level as always with is great, but Starks skill is exemplary. That doesn't mean this wont be a tough fight. Stark looks serious as he takes his place in the ring, standing still as opposed to Archer who circles the ring to hype up the crowd. The screaming of the onlookers is drowned out to muffled yells when a pair of surprised eyes meet mine. Archer puts his hands down, seeing me in the crowd. With a now hard set mouth, he crosses the ring heading my way. No! I've already seen what these two will do in front of anyone watching. How far will it go? Luckily I don't have to find out. Stark turns around, confused as to why his opponent t is leaving only to see me in the crowd. His expression turns alarmed and he grabs Archer's shoulder before he can step onto the ground. I see him whisper a few words, making Archer freeze. I think for a split moment, that everything is okay. That is until a fist flies directly at Stark's face. Luckily he dodges, but the flying fists don't stop. The referee gets pushed out of the way harshly when he tries to break up the fight he didn't allow to start yet and the boys go at it. It takes five men to pry the two apart, both still trying to have a go at each other. They yell obscenities across the ring and the showmaster steps up with his microphone. "Sorry folks! It seems our boys here got too excited! Let's do it right this time yeah guys?!" The crowd cheers and both men are put on opposite sides of the ring. Neither moves anything but their mouths. Having an argument no one can hear rallies the crowd further. When the whistle finally rings, the once kickboxing match now turns into a fight to stay alive. Blood shatters across the floor with the force and accuracy of each blow delelivered by Stark, but Archer doesn't just take it. Stark receives several blows to the gut, that being his ungaurded area. Archer has blood pouring out of his mouth and nose, not to mention the already forming bruise on his cheek. I fear for both men in this moment. How far is too far? By the time Stark has my ex pinned, he doesn't accept the tapout. Instead, he wretches Archer's arm up and out of socket. The peircing yell hits my ears and I cringe. I gasp in horror watching Stark take hold of his opponents other arm and snap it at the elbow. Its not supposed to bend that way... I can't look at the rest of what he does, but I can hear Archer screaming over the crowds heavy gasps. When it's completely silent, I turn slowly to find Stark running my way with a security gaurd behind him in hot pursuit. "Come on!" He yells grabbing my hand as we run out of the building. No one tries to stop us as we exit and hop in his car. The security gaurd is long gone and Stark mutters, "Well... No more fighting there for me. I'll just assume I'm banned now." I don't find anything to say u til he directs his words at me. "And you... What were you thinking?! You said you'd stay home! Do you know what he would ha-" I cut off his ranting by grabbing his face and planting my lips on his. He's clearly surprised, but kisses back almost immediately. "I'm sorry," I whisper. "I just wanted to see." Stark closes his eyes nodding. Looking at him now, I notice blood shatters all over his body. It's not his blood, but that doesn't mean I'm not bothered. "We should go home so you can shower," I suggest. He takes a look at his clothes and agrees. Soon we're back home and surprised to see Renee sitting on the couch. She looks at us, noticing the tired look in my eyes and the blood on Stark. She gives us wide eyes and gapes her mouth. "What did I miss?"
