Chapter 3 Dean sauntered back up the stairs to collect their suitcase. He stopped on the long landing that led in both directions to six rooms. The upper level consisted of four bedrooms, a bathroom, and a small box room used as a study. Anyone seeing the place would assume Jay’s parents’ had done well for themselves and the assumption would be right, but it hadn’t always been like this. When April and Jay’s family moved to the area, the house needed serious fixing. The improvements took place over time and only as Jay’s parents prospered.
