Gwaiin

Will is sneaking glances at me as he puts up the new catalogs for the new gaming monitors while I ring up a customer. I had been helping her for about an hour now. She wanted pink glitter accessories for her daughter's new computer. She had shown me pictures of it and I have to admit that I'm a little jealous of the girl and interested in the kind of person she is. The games around the computer didn't look like the kind of games that a girl with a pink Card Caster's themed gaming set would play. She's girly with a sniper affliction. I managed to convince her mother to buy her two of the latest games. A graduation present.      "You look tired," William commented when I walked back into the store after helping the woman put her bags in the car. I don't know why but there's something about the way he's looking at me that makes me feel uncomfortable.      "You have no idea," I answered taking moved items off the shelves. I sighed when I picked up four of the new USB packages. Someone had opened them and taken what was inside. I held them up for him to see.      "s**t," he groaned taking the packages from me. "I'll scan them. Can you go upstairs and get some more?"      "Yeah," I nodded.      "Can I get some help?"      I stopped before I rushed up the staircase leading up to the supply room. I know that voice. I turned to find Young standing in the tablet isle with his signature smirk on his face. I glanced over at William. He motioned me to go over to him while he scanned the missing item packages into the system. I sighed and walked over to him. He's not here by coincidence.      "Welcome to Pcs for Your D's. How may I help you, sir?" He chuckled looking me over before pointing at the tablets.      "I need something with a lot of memory space. Nothing too big I want to mount it on my dashboard,"      "Okay," I laughed. "Are you going to use it to make videos? We have dashcams as well,"      "Yeah, I'm making gear shifting instruction videos. I also want something that switches from a selfie to cam instantly,"      "I've got this one," William came up behind me with a smile on his face. Young didn't like that. "You're more of our PC specialist,"      "Alright," I nodded stepping away from them. "I will get the USBs from upstairs,"      "No," Will practically shouted. "You should stay upfront. I'll get the USBs when I'm done here,"      "Are you sure? I don't mind,"      "I'm sure," he nodded. I shrugged and walked over to the cash register.      I listened to the harsh way they're talking to one another. The tone Young is using one Will is completely uncalled for. Will is trying his best not to be rude to his customer. When they were done, Will rushed up the stairs that lead into the supply room. Young came over to me with a triumphant smirk on his face and two boxes in his hands. He placed them on the counter between us.      "Are you like that with everyone?" I asked as I began to scan his items. Will purposely gave him the most expensive ones we have.      "Like how?" he asked innocently.      "An ass hole," I answered putting his things into a plastic bag. He laughed.      "What time do you get off work?" he asked.      "Twenty minutes but I have to pick up Cat from school and check-in at Cyrilla. Aren't you supposed to be in school?"      "Early day and I only have four classes in the morning," he shrugged. "I haven't seen you in school for two years now,"      "I'm too smart for that. Tested out early. High school is for squares,"      "Is that right?" he laughed. "Well, there's this thing coming up. Prom, and since this is my last mortal experience as a high school boy I want to share it with you,"      "Ha. You're hilarious,"      "I know for a fact that you didn't go to your prom. So why not?"      "Why would you know that?" I laughed.      "Because I didn't take you,"      "You're so full of-" he cut me off by abruptly putting his hand up.     "Come on. Why not? We go, take some pictures, dance to shitty music. It'll be fun. I can even get your little delinquent friends to come. Don't make me beg,"      "I didn't go to those things because I was too young and all the big kids were ass holes. Will was actually one of the few who didn't spit on me," he made a face. A cute expression of disgust at the mention of Will's name.      "Well, you'll be the same age as them. You'll be there with me and you can make fun of all the suckers who think that some stupid high school dance is going to be the most magical night of their miserable experience,"  I laughed.      "You really want me to go?" I asked. He nodded. "Alright, but if you make me wear pink I will hurt you,"      "You pick the color,"      "Nope, you're going to be the Cinderella since it's your prom. I'll pick you up and everything," he burst out laughing.      "Your parents are going to kill me when we get back," he whispered as he swiped his card. "I'll see you around, Slick. Laters, little lizard,"  I turned back to see my unnamed familiar wave at him as he walked out. He lied his head back down.      "Not so much your mother but definitely your father. No one is more anxious to see what has become of his princess than he. Adding a boyfriend to his surprise is going to be hilarious," he smirked.      "Shut up," I shot back. It's weird for them to talk about people I know nothing about. Almost as weird as me talking to a baby dragon.      "Did you know that guy?" Will asked coming down with a couple of boxes.      "Yeah," I answered going over to him to take the top box from him before he dropped it.      "Your boyfriend?" he asked looking up at me when we set the boxes down.      "Not yet," I answered truthfully. His eyes lingering on mine for a little too long before he nodded and pulled out a box cutter.      My answer created an awkward tension between us until I clocked out. As I put my vest back in my locker and began to gather my things, he approached me cautiously. I looked over at him wishing the new girl from day shift would just show up already.      "I don't know if you know this, Lily. Gwaiin is bad news,"  Did he just say Gwaiin?      "Is he?" I asked turning to my locker to shut.      I shut my eyes trying to calm the panic starting up in me. He clearly said Gwaiin. No one knows that his last name is Gwaiin. At least, I think no one does. Everyone I know and those around him all call him Young. Up until now, Grayson has always been Grayson Young.      "Yeah, he runs with some pretty shady people. I just want you to be careful. You're a really pretty and smart girl. I don't want to see you get hurt or anything," I turned around to look at him. It was brief but I swear his honey yellow eyes sparked red.      "I've known Gray for a long time now," I shrugged zipping my messenger bag up. "But I'll take your warning into consideration. The last thing I need is to get into trouble now that I can be tried as an adult, you know?"      "Right, that would suck," he smiled. I flinched back when he reached for me. He carefully pulled something out of my hair. "Lint,"      "Oh, um. Thanks," I ran my fingers through my hair as I walked out of the store. "I'll see you later,"      "Yeah," he called back. I ran. I don't know why but I ran out of there as fast as I could. I turned the corner to Cat's school and smacked right into someone.      "s**t," I cried out in pain as I tried to breathe in properly. Not only had I successfully freaked myself out but I smacked into someone knocking the air right out of my lungs.      "My bad. I didn't see you there," I looked up to see a boy with amethyst colored eyes. He stood up offering me his hand. As soon as our hands met I knew.      "Who are you?" I asked.      "You've met the others," he smirked. "Preston Percival your highness,"     "You're a knight?" I asked breathlessly.      "I am," he confirmed. I let out a sigh of relief. He looked behind me and I followed his gaze to see Will standing outside of the store. "Are you alright?"      "No, yes. Yes, I'm okay. I just thought- I thought I saw something but I feel like it's just because of everything that's been going on," he pulled me up.     "What did you see?"      "Preston," we both turned to look in the direction where he had been coming from to see Talia coming towards us. "Lily?"      "Hey," I greeted her. She pulled me into a hug and I honestly can say that I needed it right now. I don't why it's not something I'm familiar with.     "You look spooked," she commented.      "You were saying?" Preston asked.      "The guy- the guy I work with. His name is William and- I might be crazy but I swear his eyes were glowing red,"      "Could have been a reflection of something," Talia suggested. Preston glared at her.      "No, I've had some suspicions. Anything else?" he asked.      "I don't know if others know that but he called Grayson, Gwaiin. I've never heard anyone call him that. No one calls him Gray or Grayson. I don't even call him that. We all know him as Young. That's his last name here," they both looked at one another and nodded.      "Where are you headed?" Talia asked me.      "I have to pick up Cat from school,"      "Pres go with her. I'll get Meerlyn,"
