Chapter 17 Our wedding Lucille Today was our wedding day, and I seemed calm. Whom am I kidding? I’m a nervous wreck. I got ready and paced. My parents chuckled since they had married. I had many thoughts running through my mind. What if I suck as a wife? I didn’t want to get married and blow this marriage since I didn’t believe in divorce. “Hun, you’ll be fine,” Mom said. “I’m eighteen. In two months, I turn nineteen. I’m young. What if I screw this marriage up?” I furrowed my brows. “All marriages have a secret. You make mistakes and argue, but you’ll have each other. Your dad and I had our moments, but we survived, and you will too.” I looked at her and nodded. People getting married was an enormous deal. I wanted to make sure I didn’t suck at it. “It’s time to go,” Dad said.
