It started with arranged marriage

Chapter 26

- Lily Jane Collin  -

“Lily! Common wake up. Today is your big day,” Nicole’s voice echoed from the hallway to my room. I was still rolling into the blanket and then Emily came and pulled away the blanket from me. “Five more minutes please,” I groaned under the pillow. But no use pleading with my two exciting friends for my wedding. I got dragged out of my bed and shoved into the bathroom to wash up by Emily and Nicole. 

I was still dozing out, standing in front of the mirror inside the bathroom. “I know you will be like this. Common! Lily, chop chop no time,” Nicoel stormed into the bathroom and urged me to wash up quickly. When I came out of the bathroom after washing up, the full makeup and hair team was already setting up and waiting for me. 

“It’s too early to put on makeup, don’t you think guys,” I asked Emily and Nicole. Honestly, I was just looking for an excuse to get a few more minute naps. They were just shaking their heads. 

“It’s already past nine o’clock, look at your watch Lily!,” Nicole snapped me out. We just have only one and half hour left to get ready before the ceremony begins. Emily told the makeup artist to start doing my makeup. After around eighty percent of makeup was done, my stomach was sending me a signal with a rumbling sound. 

“I’m hungry. Let’s go and eat breakfast first,” I said as I walked toward the door. 

“Bride shouldn’t go out till the ceremony starts. I’ll go and get it here,” Emily volunteered. Then she was about to go and get breakfast and I stopped her. 

“Emily! I’ll just make a phone call to Nick or Steve to bring breakfast for us,” I said and then I dialed Nick’s number. 

I asked Nick to ask Susan to send breakfast for us. Shortly after the phone call ended, Susan delivered coffee and muffin to my room. After finishing with breakfast, the makeup artist finished up my makeup and hair. I looked amazing with all the makeup and the simple hairstyle, just curling my medium length hairs and clipped with a silver head vine at the back. I was looking myself at the mirror after the hair and makeup was done. 

“Hello! Lily!” Emily slightly shook my shoulder.

 “What are you thinking about? Are you nervous,” Emily asked. I shook my head and then headed to my dressing room to change into the wedding dress. I felt like time passed really fast, especially on today. It was only thirty minutes left to begin the wedding ceremony. 

“Lily, we have a special present for you,” Nicole said and handed me a box. It was a pair of sexy, see through lacy black lingerie. 

“Wear it now,” Emily urged me to wear it. I sighed and slipped them on quickly as Nicole and Emily urged. After I finished, Nicole and Emily went to the backyard first and I was left alone in my room.  

I was looking at the wedding ceremony area from my room’s window. I saw some of the guests were already there. We didn’t invite a lot of people and we just invited a few close friends. The wedding ceremony was in our house's backyard. It was an outdoor wedding, decorated with lots of flowers. I was hoping that it would rain but the sky was as clear as crystal. 

Thereafter, Nick, Steve, mom and granny came and knocked on my door.“Wow! You look stunning” Steve said. The wedding ceremony was about to start in 10 minutes. 

“I’m so happy for you sweetheart,” granny said and gave me a hug. 

“Come here, give a hug too, my princess,” mom said and hugged me tightly. “See you down there,” mom said and both mom and granny headed to the ceremony first. Me and my brothers were following them shortly. 

Now the wedding ceremony has begun and I was standing at the back with my brothers waiting to enter. I was walking to the aisle with both Nick and Steve. We were waiting for the pianist to play the wedding march. My palms were sweating and I was nervous. 

“Are you nervous,” Nick asked. I nodded my head, couldn’t speak due to nervousness. 

“Hey! Look! I got your back,” Nick comforted me. But it was not helpful that much. The wedding march was about to play and I was standing between my brothers nervously. 

“I’m nervous too,” Steve added and that made me c***k from my nervousness. He looked like he was really nervous too. His whole body was tense and started sweating. 

“Gosh! Steve!” Nick just shook his head. At that moment the wedding march started playing and Emily and Nicole walked down to the aisle. 

Right after they walked down to the aisle, I walked down with Nick and Steve. Eric was standing at the front together with two of his best men. He looked so handsome in a black tuxedo. The wedding march stopped when we reached in front of Eric. 

“I trusted my sister with you from now on. Take care of her,” Steve said to Eric and he passed my hands to Eric. 

Eric started with his vow and waited for my vow. At that moment I was thinking if I don’t want this marriage this would be the last chance for me to run away. I was looking at mom, granny and my brothers with that thought. 

“Lily!” Eric whispered-yelled at me. The priest was also waiting for my vow. “I, Lily Jane Collin, take Eric William Miller, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy law, in the presence of God I make this vow,” I finished with my vow. 

The ceremony was about to finish and only the bride and groom needed to say “I DO”. “Do you Lily Jane Collin  take Eric William Miller to have and to hold from this day forward, to love, to cherish in sickness, in wealth and unto death do you apart”. I was hesitant to answer at first but I ended up saying “I Do”. Because I didn’t want to disappoint and let my family reputation down because of me. 

Thereafter the priest faced me and asked “Do you Eric William Miller take Lily Jane Collin to have and to hold from this day forward, to love, to cherish in sickness, in wealth and unto death do you apart,” the priest asked Eric first. 

He said “I Do” without any hesitation. 

“Now you may kiss the bride,” the priest declared and I felt nervous. He came closer to me and kissed me softly yet lovingly without any hesitation. When he kissed me I felt like I got electric shock.
