It started with arranged marriage

Chapter 35

Here I was unexpectedly encountering Sophia again. This time she was with another guy again, who knew how long she might be with this current new boyfriend. I didn’t want to stay longer there so I took Lilly to our room right after the conversation ended. Jimmy booked a very nice penthouse suite room for us. The view was spectacular, you can see the whole city from the room. As soon as we arrived in the hotel room, I took a shower first then changed into comfortable casual clothes. Now I was ready to go and eat dinner while waiting for Lily to be ready. I was checking up all my email and having some business calls with Jimmy before I went out. Then the hotel line phone was ringing. 

“Hello! Who it’s?” I asked. Then the lady from the other phone line was introducing me as the receptionist and she was calling me because of Sophia's request. She was explaining to me that Sophia would like to speak to me and she was asking her for the room number. 

“Tell her I’ll meet her in the lobby in a minute,” I told the receptionist and then hung up the phone. Then I left a message for Lily with the sticky note that I’ll be waiting for her at the lobby. 

When I arrived at the lobby, Sophia ran toward me and hugged me tight. I pushed her right away as soon as she hugged me. “Are you crazy? What are you doing?” I yelled at her while walking to the sitting area. Then she was following me from behind. I meant how could she did that to me like that, she came here with her new boyfriend and now still wanted to have something with me too. 

“Babe, I told you before I loved you and still I’m too,” she said as she sat down next to me and then linked my arms with hers. 

“Are you not ashamed of yourself, you’re telling me about that when you’re dating another guy? Don’t you see that I’m already married?” I angrily stated to her. 

“I don’t care Eric! I just want to be with you!” she shamelessly said it again. I knew she would be definitely like that if she saw me with another girl. If I wasn’t married yet or the old me, I might be back together with her right away but this time I wanted to give her a proper lesson. So I was still playing hard to get. Although my heart was telling me to take her back. 

She was literally glueing with me in the lobby. Some people who recognized her were staring at us. I was about to unlink her arm, I saw Lily going out alone from the entrance. So I pushed her hard and then chased Lily. 

“Lily! Wait! Where are you going?” I ran toward her and stopped her while she was walking fast to the avenue. 

“Where do you think I’m going?” she stopped and then replied to me. I bet she saw me and Sophia that’s why she went out alone. 

“Hey! I’m the one who asked you first,” I added. 

“I thought you needed more time there at the lobby, so I decided to go eat something to give you some space with your friend,” she said, emphasizing the word friend. 

“Look! I reserved dinner for us already and it was not like what you think,” I told her. I didn’t even remember why I was explaining to her about it. 

“You can go and eat with your friend, I don’t mind. I can just go and eat alone,” she said that but her voice sounded sad. 

“I mind ok! Now let's go back to the hotel, the car is already there waiting for us,” I said as I grabbed her arm and took her back to the hotel. But then when we were standing at the entrance waiting for the car, Sophia and her boyfriend were also walking outside of the entrance to wait for a car. 

“Hey Eric! What’re you guys doing here?” she asked me while her boyfriend was looking at us with questioning eyes. 

“I’m going out for dinner with my wife,” I just cut it short. I didn’t want to have more conversation with her at that moment but the car had not arrived yet either. Because I knew Lily saw us at the lobby earlier and she was already mad at me about that. 

“Oh! Shoot! This is James, my boyfriend,” she introduced him to us. James offered his hand first for the handshake. 

“Eric, this is my wife Lily. Nice to meet you,” I introduced myself while handshaking with him. Right after I was introduced the car arrived in front of us. 

“Excuse us, the car is here. Nice meeting with you two,” I said as I opened the door for Lily and we headed to the restaurant. There was no conversation inside the car. I escorted her to the restaurant when we arrived there. Still even when we were inside the restaurant she didn’t talk to me. She just read the menu and then ordered. 

“Are you mad at me?” I asked her while we were waiting for the food. I don’t want to ruin this dinner. This was the second dinner for us and the first one didn't end well. 

“Why should I be mad at you? Do I have a reason to be mad at you?” she answered me with questions again. Then the food was served and she started eating silently again. 

“Hey that was misunderstanding okay, there’s nothing between me and Sophia,” I explained to her. But still her attention was on the food. 

“Look! I want to try to make this marriage work as much as you do,” I lied. So far I didn’t have that thought yet but one thing for sure was I didn’t want her to get upset because of me especially when she was married to me. She was still upsetting at me and giving me a silent treatment. 

“Lily, talk to me,” I spoke to her with my most gentle soft voice tone. Then she put down knife and fork and then looked at me while sighing at me. 

“Eric! I’m not mad at you. I-I-I was just bothering with something earlier, that’s it,” she responded to me. I knew she was bothering with Sophia and me but she didn’t tell what was bothering her. 

“If you are not mad then why don’t you talk to me?” I asked her again. 

“I’m just tired and hungry that’s why. Can we talk about something else,” she replied. She was annoyed and she didn’t want to continue to talk about that. Me, also decided to talk about something else to change the mood and that would be better for both of us. Then we started talking about our friends, and also she was talking about how two of her friends were crazy. After we dropped the Sophia topic, the mood started changing into a good mood. We were chatting and laughing.

I got to know more about her during the dinner conversation. She was such a bright, lovingly and adorable person. Not to mention that she could get mad easily especially, when she was hungry but also her anger could disappear within a minute. I could tell about that because a few minutes ago she was upset and mad at me for a while but after she was full her mood got better too. Also she was telling me a lot about Nick embarrassing childhood memories. Thereafter I took her to the eiffel towel, the mood was so good there. Even though we were not lovers, both of us could feel the romantic vibes. We were still chatting and walking then I told her to stop right at the center of under the towel. 

“Hey! Look up!” I told her. 

“Wow! It’s so beautiful, I’ve been here many times but I never knew this place existed,” she said as she was looking up to the towel. The towel was shining with light and it was breathtakingly beautiful especially when you looked up from the ground. The vibe and mood was so great and I couldn’t help myself from not kissing her. But I couldn’t help so I just kissed her without thinking about other stuff. After walking for a while we went back to the hotel.
