I listen to everything that Alex has to say and feel the anger burning in me when he tells me what his father had done to Caroline. She didn’t deserve to be locked up for so many years. It’s no wonder she got broken down and fell in love with the man that held her captive. I think back to the day she told me that she had to go back home, that her father was there and that I had nothing to worry about, that hardly anyone knew who she was. She forgot to tell me that her best friend was the queen, I only found that out when my parents were accused of her death. Knowing that Alex is her son, brings her back to me in a way. She had a pure heart and it clear that Alex received that gift from her.
