New place

After they arrived at the airport in Atlanta, Alli, Sang and Mike took their luggage and headed to the apartments arranged for them from the casino. They were travelling in silence, each one of them thinking and making plans about their new job. After they arrived at the destination, they were surprised to see that the place they will be living was at the outskirts of the city instead of the center, where the casino was located.

- I can’t believe it. Are they f*****g with us? First, they ask for help, and when we agree to come, we find out that they have put us at this place, which is probably the farthest point from the casino.

- Alli, calm dawn. It’s not they they can afford to settle us close to the casino. You heard Mac, he said that financially they are going dawn, so I kind of expected something like this to happen. - said Sang

- At least we have separate apartments. Alli, Sang is right, don’t get so angry. It’s not like we haven’t stayed in similar places before. Remember when we were in Philippines, this place here is 10 times better than there. - Mark tried to calm her

- Okay, okay you have a point. I’m just still pissed to Mac for playing us.

- Mike, we have to make a call to the casino and tell them that we have arrived, so they can put us in the schedule. - told him Sang

- Don’t worry I will give them a call. You two go and unpack your stuff, get some rest and if you want, we can go somewhere for dinner, because I have no intentions to cook.

- I most definitely like the idea. Come on Alli, lets unpack.

The rest of the day went by quickly, and till everyone was ready with the luggage, it was too late for going out. Alli and Sang decided to order food for home and they told Mike to come at their place. The three of them were having fun, joking about how easy they were tricked from their boss and remembering the good old times when they still enjoyed being send on a business trip. Before Mike leave, he told them that they have to be at work the day after tomorrow, and their shift starts at 16 o’clock. Considering that they have one free day before they start working, the girls decided to go for a walk and explore the city in the morning.

Darkness… everything is disappearing… there is no one… alone…running… run faster… they are close… run…

The same nightmare all over again, every night.

- Alli, Alli, wake up! Alli…

Sang was trying to wake up her friend. She heard her screams, the same screams she was hearing every night. The same screams as hers. She was hoping that one day they will disappear, and both with her best friend will finally have peace at night.

- Alli, honey, please wake up.

Alli woke up trembling, covered in sweat. The first thing she did was to take the knife hidden under her pillow and to look around herself. Instinct. It was an instinct for both of them to take the hidden weapon. When she finally checked everything around her she put down the knife and looked at Sang.

- Sang… I’m sorry. Did I wake you up?

- No, I was already awake. I woke up couple of minutes before you started screaming.

- What time is it?

- It’s little after 5 o’clock.

- Why are you awake so early? … Nightmares?

- …. Yes … but this time was not that bad … I was capable of awaking before the worst part …

- … I don’t think I will be capable to fall asleep again … Why don’t we make some coffee and prepare for going out …? I know it’s early, but …

- I agree. There is no point in torturing ourselves. And until we finish with our coffee, it will be at least 8 o’clock … so … let’s go.

- Will you make the coffee? I want to take a shower before I come. - asked Alli

- Yeah, noooo problem.

While Alli was taking shower, Sang made coffee for both of them and prepared some clothes. She turned the TV on and played their favorite channel. The music spread throughout the entire apartment. Before they start drinking their coffee, they decided to get dressed so they can be ready to leave.

- Sang, check this out. - Alli said showing her friend one of the places she liked on her phone.

- Mhhhh, I like it. Where is it? - asked her friend

- Just couple of miles outside of the city. You wanna go? We can go there first and after that we can explore the city.

- Let me see … are those waterfalls? - Sang asked

- Yeah.

- Okay, I think we already have a plan. Should we take our backpacks?

- Mhhhh … I think we should better take them and also it’s gonna be more comfortable with them. We can put some spare clothes and also our swimsuits in there.

- That’s a good idea, we can make couple of jumps from the waterfalls. The cliffs are not so high and we can catch some tan.

While Sang was preparing the spare clothes and the swimsuits, Alli was making coffee and some sandwiches. When they were ready, they grabbed couple of bottles with water, filled their thermoses with coffee and put two towels into their backpacks. As they had no car they decided to take a taxi to drive them to the closest place that they can rent a car. Luckily the taxi driver was very nice man and he took them to the best company offering car renting. He also gave them directions for the shortest way to their destination and advised them to rent a Jeep, because the roads to that place were hard to pass with a normal car.

The girls were very grateful to the driver and they decided to follow his advices. Thanks to him it didn’t took them long before they arrived at their location.

- It is magnificent. I haven’t seen something so beautiful in a long time.

- Yeah, you can’t see something like this in Las Vegas… Alli, let’s leave the car here and walk to the top of the cliffs.

- Okay, you are the boss. - Alli giggled

- Don’t make me laugh. Said Sang while she was taking her backpack from the car.

- Sang, what will we do first? Relax under the sun or swim for a while?

- Why don’t we swim first and the we can dry ourselves under the sun and after that we will change and head to the city?

- I told you, you are the boss.

The girls burst out laughing. It didn’t take them long before they were at the top of the cliff. When they arrived, they looked around themselves, but apparently there was no one else there except them. They changed into their swimsuits and were preparing to jump when suddenly Alli turned back and started staring into the forest.

- Alli are you okay?

- Yeah, I just have a feeling that someone is watching us.

- What? How can that be? There is no one else around except us.

- I know … probably I’m just imagining …

- You sure?

- Yeah … I’m just imagining. You ready? One, two, three … jump!

The girls had no idea that they were not alone. In the forest behind them someone was really there, but you can’t say that he was human. Hidden between the trees was Nathan. He was not exactly a human. He was werewolf. But not a simple one, Nathan was the Beta in his pack, the right hand of the Alpha. He was out checking the borders for intruders and more specifically for rouges. That was when he smelled it, the magnificent aroma of vanilla mixed with chocolate. He headed to the place where the smell was coming when he saw them, two beautiful girls, one with dark red hair and pale skin, and the other with curly black long hair, rosy lips and mesmerizing light blue eyes.

- Mate! Mate! His wolf started telling inside him.

Nathan was more than shocked. He had already lost hope of finding his mate. With his best friend, the Alpha, were the only male wolfs above age, that had no mates. He couldn’t take his eyes of the girl. For his surprise her friend turned back and started staring into the forest, so he was forced to hide himself better between the trees, even thou he was in his wolf form something was telling him that he can’t be seen. Nathan was also surprised that his mate wasn’t a werewolf, right the opposite, she was human, just like her friend. But he didn’t really cared about that, he was just happy that he finally has found her. His love, his other half, his soulmate. Nathan was watching them while they were jumping from the cliff and his heart started beating faster. He was worried about his mate. He knew that these cliffs were quite high. Even thou he wanted to go there to check if his mate was okay, he forced himself no to move from his place.

- Nate, what takes you so long to come back? - Lukas was asking him through the mindlink.

Lukas is Nathan's best friend and also the Alpha of the pack. He is the strongest alpha living in the entire America and also the most ruthless one. Even thou everyone are scared of him, there is no woman till now that haven’t tried to seduce him. With his black hair, dark brown eyes and perfect body, he is the dream of every woman. The fact that Lukas is two years older than Nathan was never an obstacle for them. He became alpha only at the age of 17 when his father, the previous alpha was killed in a rogue attack. After his father’s death Lukas took over the pack and since then he made it the strongest one in the USA. It’s been ten years since that day and he still hasn’t found his mate.

- Luke, there is no intruder on our border. I’ve checked it twice.

- Since it’s like that, why haven’t you come back?

- Luke … I found my mate …

- What? Seriously? … that’s great … where are you?

- Near the cliffs.

- Then what are you waiting for? Bring your mate here.

- Yeah … that’s gonna be a problem …

- Why?

- Luke, … she is a human …

- … wait there, I’m coming …

After Lukas broke the mind-link he headed to the cliffs where his friend was. He changed into his wolf form. Huge, black wolf with the most beautiful golden eyes, that was his wolf. Once there, he quickly found his friend hiding between the trees.

- What are you doing here hiding?

- I had to. The girl that is with my mate … I think she sensed me … she is human, but … I don’t know how, she sensed me.

- That’s weird. I haven’t heard something like that to happen before.

- Me neither. But I’m sure of what I saw.

- Okay, let’s go around. We will check them down there. The forest there is very dense, they won’t be capable of seeing us.

They headed to the forest which was located right next to the river where the girls were swimming.

- Sang, look I can’t believe how clear the water is. I can almost see the bottom of the river.

- Alli be careful. We don’t know what can be there.

- You have a point, and since you said it, I kind of wanna get out of here. I think I had enough of swimming.

- I’m out to. Even thou it was fun I hate water creatures.

Going out of the water the two girls had no idea that there was someone watching them. Two pairs of gold eyes were following every move they make. Was it because of the water or the reason was something else, Luke couldn’t catch the smell of the red-haired girl. It was like she wasn’t there at all. They just kept watching them.

- Alli do you want some coffee?

- Yes, thank you. … Mhhhh … that’s good … love the sunlight touching my skin.

- Yeah, that’s the best feeling ever.

- Let’s stay until we dry ourselves and after that we will head to the city.

- I can’t agree more.

- Nate, let’s leave. We will find them in the city.

- I guess today we will be having a trip around the city then. - smiled Nathan

Lukas was curious and at the same time concerned about the fact that he wasn’t capable to catch the smell of the girl. Once back at the pack house he made his third in command to find everything possible for the two girls and specifically for the red-haired one.

-Alli, … who are you? Why can’t I sense you at all?
