"I'm not crazy!" the farmer yelled with his eyes bugging out. He'd kept the secret of his son's disappearance for two months and now that he'd started, he wanted to get the whole story out. He plowed right through it, raving like a madman. Gary and the sheriff stared at the farmer in disbelief. The farmer's highly excited tone of voice matched the wild hand gestures he used as he described the beast and the encounter with it. The more he talked, the more convinced his two visitors became of his insanity. The farmer finally concluded with, "So you see, that's why I couldn't tell anybody. I was so ashamed that I let my son stay in my place in the castle with that horrible beast." "OK, I think it's time to come with me," the sheriff said gently taking the distraught man by the arm.
