CHAPTER THREE
Three weeks later Patrick Thornton-Wynn and Lillian Lake were married in a small chapel in the hills of Upstate New York near his family’s estate. She was beautiful in the sleek white gown. His friend Patricia Crofton helped Lily choose the dress since she had little experience with New York designer boutiques and she really had no idea what she wanted in a wedding gown. The strapless style hugged her svelte figure all the way to her toes, and trailed out behind her. Simple. Elegant. She carried pale yellow roses tied with pale blue ribbons, and wore diamonds in her ears—a gift from her new husband. Her shiny brown hair had been pulled up off her face to show all the radiance she felt that day.
