Chapter Four The Cross-fit Club This is my big break in so many ways. As a freshman sports reporter for my college paper, it’s my first chance for a scoop, or at least a more in-depth piece than usual. It’s also an unbelievable opportunity for socialization. The biggest obstacle between me and a journalism career is my shyness. Being small, meek and easily bullied has always been a detriment. Yet now that I’ve finally escaped high school and the old home town I’m hoping the fresh start will help me overcome this. Who knows? Someday I might even get brave enough to ask a girl for a date. Even if I don’t, this is a fantastic chance to at least speak to a few, if only on a professional level. I can’t fathom how I managed to overcome my inclinations and seize upon this possibility. After
