5. Who's who

"I get it, but what's her deal? And did you feel that aura? I mean Vince and Nica are Alphas, but only Alpha Bart made me submit to him like that. That was freaky." - Colin kept going.

"Ow, someone's ego has been hurt?" - I mocked him.

"Princess, you're walking on thin ice here." - he said with a playful smile.

I turned my attention to Martha.

"So you've met my roommate. Who's yours?" - I asked her.

"Warrior from Gold Moon Pack, Alicia Archer." - Martha said.

"And? What's her deal, why didn't you bring her so we could get to know her? I'd like to know who is living with my best friend."

"She went to her own Pack. I think she likes her future Alpha." - Martha added.

"Not so shocking." - I said pointing my head towards Jessica.

Jup, our future Gamma always made flirty eyes to my brother. He on the other hand is immune to any she-wolf's charm especially from our Pack.

Vinny is 18 already, his birthday was August 28th, and since he was at home for summer we made a day out of it. Picture Jessica's face when midnight came and they didn't feel the bond. She'll be 18 in two weeks, and I can't help but to wonder which poor fool will be her fated mate.

Speaking of the devil Jessica must've noticed my gesture towards her, because she gave me her 'I will kill you' glare and stomp away from our table.

"Nica, don't be mean!" - Vince scolded me.

"Alright, no need to yell."- I said raising my hands - "So tell us boys everything we should know. Who's who, who should I get to know and who to avoid." - I asked and from my right Martha nodded enthusiastically.

"You should know us and that's enough." - said Colin wiggling his eyebrows.

Vince hit him in his shoulder.

"Stop flirting with my sister Man, she's out of reach for you!" - warned him my brother what made both me and Martha giggle.

"Well answering your question Sis, Lycademy have now lots of future Alphas and Betas, so they even came up with additional classes about running a Pack. You will most likely attend it too. But back to the topic besides us we have future leaders of Red Moon Pack with my roommate Falco Springer and his Beta Albert Johns and Gamma Owen McGeady. I believe you remember Falco's sister Eagle and her friend Anika?" - he pointed to our left and I nodded.

I remember Falco very well, he was a jerk just like his sister while visiting our home, but I must say since then he has grown. Even sitting it's obvious he is one of the tallest guys here.

"Then we have Eric Stevens, he's future Alpha of Gold Moon Pack. He's here alone without his Beta as that guy graduated last year and found his Mate. But Girls, you need to stay away from Eric, and I mean it! He's a well known male-w***e around here and I would hate to see any of you getting hurt. Are we clear?"

Martha and I nodded, but when I looked at Eric he looked normal, cute even. Not at all how I would picture a player. He had black hair and dark brown eyes with a lot of facial hair, he looked like a younger version of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, totally doable.

" Then we have Gareth Russo and his adoptive sister Chloe. I don't really know them because they keep only to themselves." - he pointed to a girl with almost white hair and a guy with brown hair. They looked normal.

"We also have here Beta of Dragon Night Pack Heston Moyez, but he's on his last year."

"I wouldn't mind tasting this piece of chocolate" - Martha said, eyeing the dark skinned guy. I really regret that I drank the soda then because as soon as I heard it, it flew out of my nose.

"Girl you're bad!" - I told her as soon as I stopped sneezing out that soda.

All three of the guys looked at us like we were insane which isn't new to us.

"I also heard from our History Professor that some Alpha twins will join this year." - Vince ended the introduction.

"Oh right, we actually met them already. They stopped Nica and Eagle from fighting." - Martha said, and I gave her death glare.

"What?! Nica, you started a fight with Eagle?" - Vince gave me an accusatory look.

"First of thank you Martha. Secondly I didn't start it. Eagle was a b***h to one of the students and I was simply defending that poor girl." - I explained myself.

"Actually I believe her, that sounds like Eagle." - Colin took my side.

"Whatever, but please don't be a troublemaker. I really hit it off with Falco and he's a true friend now, I wouldn't like to jeopardize our future relations because of our stupid sisters. Are we clear?" - Vince asked.

I made a cross sign on my left breast and raised two fingers in the air letting him know that I promise to be good.

" Good. Now tell me who are those twins?"- Vince asked.

" They're Neil and Nate Boyl, they seem decent guys and they are from Mountain Howlers. They sit over there." - Martha said pointing to our new acquaintances.

"Mountain Howlers, huh? Their Pack isn't big, but I heard that they have great warriors. It wouldn't hurt to befriend them." - my brother said mostly to himself.

"Business, business. Stop that Vinny and be their friend if they are worth it not because of future benefits you may have from it." - I told him.

That's how my brother is. He always thinks about his responsibilities. He will be a great Alpha someday, but he also needs to learn how to relax. I hope that his Mate will be easygoing cause two stiffs like him would be too much.

" Nica, life isn't always about the fun you know." - he replied dead seriously.

"Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time

Tommy, Martha and Colin began laughing but my brother just shook his head at my behavior.

"It's good to have you here Nica. Your brother needs to loosen up." - said Colin, giving me a side hug. -"Do you want me to walk you to your room, or do you remember the way?"

"Oh right, without Nim I have no idea where I am. So yeah, walk with me."

Me and Colin stood up from our seats and said goodbyes to our friends and we went toward the residential wing. This castle was still a mystery to me but I loved the interior and this old vibe which those dark corridors send.

Our walk was short and mostly in the comfortable silence, but none of us mind it, we know each other our whole lives so we are used to each other. We can talk, laugh or be quiet and that is never awkward.

When we stopped in front of my room Colin stopped me from entering and spoke.

"Hey, you're a fan of every pop culture classic right?"

"Hell yeah!" - I said, cause it's totally true.

"You remember when we watched Friends?" - he asked.

"What show? Sure. You're just like Chandler!" - I commented.

"Do you remember an episode with backup partners?" - he asked

"No, not really remind me please."

"Rachel was afraid that she won't find a husband, so Phoebe told her she should find a backup. A guy whom she'll marry if she's still single while forty."

"Oh yeah, yeah. I remember now, it turns out that the whole male part of the gang was Phoebe's backup. Are you asking me to be one of yours?" - I ask him teasingly.

He started laughing.

"Not exactly, I'm asking you if you'll be my only backup if we won't find our Mates?"

I looked at him shocked. All jokes and teasing had disappeared and it suddenly felt strange.

"Ok Nica, don't freak out. You know how I feel about you, and I'm not asking you to marry me, but maybe you'll be willing to consider me if we're both alone in the future that's all."

"Ok, if you put it like that then my answer is: Yes!" - I said.

"Really?!" - he asked like a kid in a candy store.

"Yeah, why the hell not? You're hot, cool and friendly. I could've done a lot worse, you know."

He smiled warmly and took my hand in his. Looking into my eyes he brought it to his lips and kissed my knuckles.

"Thank you and goodnight." - Colin said.

"Goodnight Colin."

I entered the room locking it behind me.
