Melanie blinked a few times in confusion, wondering if Brad had been waiting for her outside the entire time.
“Have you been standing out here this whole time?” Melanie couldn’t help it as the words fell from her lips.
Caught off-guard by such a blunt question, Brad looked away for a minute, clenching his jaw.
“I have class in the hall next to this one. It was easier to stay here then go all the way back to the library,” Brad said evasively.
“What about your books and bag?” Melanie countered. She knew he'd carried her bag with him but in doing that, he'd left his stuff back in the library.
Brad tapped his temple.
“I mind-linked Josiah to grab my stuff.”
“Oh,” Melanie finally ended lamely.
