A few minutes later, Melanie found herself sitting next to Brad in the front passenger seat while Selene slurped her milkshake in the backseat. Brad eyed Melanie sitting listlessly next to him, her eyes devoid of their natural happy spark. He could tell she was emotionless as a result of last night.
“You know plastic straws are bad for the environment,” Brad decided to comment as Selene slurped away.
Selene shot him a look and pointedly made a loud slurping sound. Melanie's head shot up as she decided to jump in to this conversation.
“He’s right you know,” Melanie said softly. “Do you know how long it takes to breakdown plastic? 450 years! It’s not biodegradable.”
Selene rolled her eyes as Melanie spent the rest of the ride lecturing her sister on why she should use recycled straws
