THE SOFT, white clouds on which I laid turned grey, conjuring thunder, the loud rumbles of imminent destruction. But as the seconds went by, I realized that it wasn’t the clouds making those noises. It was just me. It was the sound of my heart that rumbled through the empty hollow of my heart, echoing through my blood and crumbling my existence. The clouds weren’t grey.
