AUDREY'S POV We were at the dining table, eating quietly. I didn't dare to speak or ask Liam where he's been because the answer to that would be too obvious. I continued eating without giving him a single glance. I tried so hard to ignore him even though his constant sighing makes me feel uncomfortable. "I'm sorry—" "Forget it, Liam. I know my place, don't worry." I stood up and put my plate in the sink. I washed my hands and left the dining room. I went upstairs and lay on the bed, staring intently into the ceiling. I haven't slept last night, waiting for him to come home. I closed my eyes when I heard the door click open. I stayed still while waiting for Liam to leave.
