CHAPTER 7February 13 Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. Frank was at the office early that morning. Vickie burst into the office late, looking like a cross between the Michelin Man and a citizen of Nome, Alaska. He briefed her on the new job as she peeled away gloves, coat, boots, hat, scarves, and sweaters, all the while nodding with comprehension. Frank watched with amazement and admiration as Vickie dashed around the office going through her morning rituals: opening mail, making coffee, organizing papers, setting the thermostat, opening the blinds, checking the phone messages, and positioning her desktop computer just right.
