VALENTINA’S POV

Yesterday went by and nothing happened. I was resting and Ares seemed to have loads of work because he arrived home late. Today morning, I was feeling a lot better. My cramps had subdued and I was back to being healthy again.
Ares on the other hand seemed worried. He was immersed in a book and I let him read it. I made us breakfasts and sat at the dining table. Ares was still absorbed in his book.
“Ares?” I called out and he didn’t respond. On the third attempt, he looked up and seemed surprised.
“Is something going on, Ares?” I asked him and he sighed.
“No, nothing. By the way, Vincent told me they’re having a housewarming party tonight. You can go help Ani if you’re able to.” He informed me and I nodded. He had been like this many times the past few days.
