Austin POV
In the early morning . . .
I was putting some strawberry jam on the bread for breakfast. It was 5:00 am in the morning.
I woke early so u thought of making some light breakfast for me. Suddenly my phone beeped. I took the phone and answered the phone, "Hello?"
"Hey Austin," I heard mom saying. "How is my favorite son?"
"I am good mom," I said. "How is dad?"
"Eden is okay, but, son, can you come to China?" I heard mom saying.
"Why mom? Is something wrong?" I asked her. She did seamed a bit worried.
"Um . . . Yeah," mom sighed. "Ayumi . . . Well, she shut herself in her room for a day now. She is not letting anybody in her room."
"What? Mom, is Ayumi okay?" I asked her.
"I don't know, Austin. Just come home and talk to Ayumi. She is more comfortable with you," mom said.
"I will come home soon, mom. I will catch today's flight and come home. Love you," I said as I cut the phone off.
I was really worried. Ayumi never behaves like that, unless . . . Some guys misbehave with her . . . My eyes wided with my thoughts. If any guy is the reason because of herthis behavior, I am going to break his bones. I need to go home, though.
I phoned my secratary and booked a ticket for China. I went to the room from the kitchen and saw Jes. She seamed so calm and comfy as she was still sleeping on the sofa. I slowly put my phone on the table which made a very little sound.
Jes snapped opened her eyes as she looked around as if she was ready for a fight. Weird.
She looked at the and sighed. "It's you, Austin."
"Yeah, you are a very light sleeper," I said.
She nodded. "It guess I am a bit paranoid." She sudenly seamed to be a bit scared as she looked at me. "Did I spend the whole night in your room, Austin?"
I nodded. She seamed to be scared more as I could see tears welled on her eyes. But why?
"Jes, relax. You know I didn't do anything," I said.
Jes nodded. "I know . . . Um . . . Do you have a phone? Can I phone my mom?"
"Yeah," I said as I handed her the phone.
She took the phone and went near the balcony ad she dialed the phone number and talked. I couldn't hear what she was saying, but, it felt like she was sobbing.
I went near the balcony, enough for me to hear the conversation and enough for her to not to notice.
"Step mom, please listen to me. I tried . . . But, step mom . . . Please don't tell Jack . . . Step mom, please listen to me. Please . . ." She was sobbing.
She has a step mom? Who is she?
It hurted me to see her sobbing like this. I wanted to hug her but I remained still.
"Step mom, I didn't. Please trust me. I didn't . . . I am not a w***e," she sobbed.
Whore? Oh goodness, her step mom is thinking that she is a w***e? What a horrible mom is she.
"Please, no," she said. " . . . But, yes . . . I know. Fine . . . I am sorry that I hid that . . . I found Austin Tennyson," she sobbed.
My eyes wided. Jes was searching for me? But why?
"But, stepmom," Jes said. "Austin is really nice. I don't understand why you want me to do such horrible things to him . . . No, please," I heard her sobbed again. "Fine," she sobbed. "I will do it," she sobbed as she hung the phone.
I was so confused. Everything seamed seared now. But I was sure for one thing. Jes's step mom is forcing her to do something and that work need me.
Jes turned around and saw me as she was stunned as she whipped her tears. "You were listening, Austin?"
I looked at her. I wanted to tell her that I did listen to her and her step mom's conversation. But, I needed to find her what she is doing first. Or, why does she need me? So, I decided to lie. "No, I didn't. Um . . . .Want to have some breakfast?"
"Yeah, let me get fresh first though," she said as she went to the washroom.
I sighed. Whatever Jes was doing was strange. She kept saying nothing but she is definitely hiding something. I needed to know Jes and so I got a plan.
After breakfast . . .
I was packing my outfits in my suitcases.
"So, you are going back to China, Austin?" Jes asked.
"Yes," I said. "Why? You are going to miss me, Jes? Aw, I am so touched."
"Stupid," she laughed as she threw a pillow at me.
"Hey, Um . . . Can you do me a favour?" I asked her.
"What?" She said.
"So, in China, my mom is planning to have me in a blind date but as you can see, I have no interest in relationships, Jes. So, I am thinking maybe I could get a fake girlfriend to stop that relationship that my mom is planning," I said, knowing it is a part of a plan to discover what she actually is hiding.
"Wow, cool. So who are you planning to make your fake girlfriend?" She asked.
I smirked at Jes as she looked at me, confusingly.
"Ms. Jessica, will you please be my fake girlfriend?"
