Olivia Grey.
"Olivia Aliya Grey! Get your bloody ass up right now!" I groaned as my best friend slammed the door to my room open.
"Mi Mi. Go away." I mumbled, burying my head in the pillows.
"f**k no! I didn't get to see you after Bubba dropped you off yesterday, and I want all the details now!"
She jumped on the bed next to me, and I sighed, knowing she had no intentions of leaving until I told her.
I checked my phone for the time, and I groaned loudly.
It was eight in the morning.
"f**k, Mi Mi. You know I worked last night. Couldn't you have given me two more hours?!" I whined.
"Nope. You'll be alright. You're not working tonight. So deets. I want them, now." She demanded, and I rolled my eyes playfully.
I sat up with a yawn, and proceeded to tell her about our date, leaving out the naughty bits of course.
"Wow. I didn't know my brother could be so romantic! It sounds like you two had a great time." She smiled, and I nodded.
"Yeah, he's amazing." I murmured, a small smile gracing my lips.
I missed him. Usually he's here, but he told me that he had some business to take care of, so he won't be here for the next week.
"You're thinking of him, aren't you?" She smiled knowingly and I blushed.
"No." I scoffed, making her laugh.
"Yeah sure. You're not fooling me Livy. Now go take a shower, you and I are going out for breakfast this morning." She said, standing.
I groaned loudly, throwing my head back against the pillows.
"Can't I just go back to sleep?" I whined, making her roll her eyes.
"No. Now go shower and meet me downstairs in thirty." She left the room, and I huffed, getting up and stretching.
I made the bed, before going into the bathroom and brushing my teeth. I took a quick shower, drying my skin off, and walked into the closet attached to the room, slipping on a pair of lace boy shorts and the matching bra.
I put on my deodorant and lotion, before pulling on a pair of light blue jeans and a navy blue silk button down shirt that I tucked into the jeans. I put on a pair of a pair of open toed heels, before going back into the bathroom to fix my hair. I slicked it back into a low ponytail, before doing some light makeup, which consisted of lipgloss and mascara.
I grabbed my little black everyday bag, shoving my phone and wallet into it. As I made my way down the hallway, I bumped into Christian who was looking down at his phone.
"Oh! I'm sorry." I said sheepishly, and he chuckled.
"It's alright. Where were you headed off to in such a hurry?" He asked curiously.
"Amelia and I are going out for breakfast." I said.
"Oh. Do you mind if I join you guys." He gave me a dazzling smile.
"Yeah, sure. I'm sure Amelia wouldn't mind." I responded.
"Well, after you milady." He did an over exaggerated bow, making me laugh.
We walked side by side, chattering on our way to Amelia.
"So... You and Xavier." He said, slowing to a stop before we reached the stairs.
"Yeah. We're together now." I said, and he hummed.
"I'm surprised. My brother is usually a f**k 'em and dump 'em type, and it's usually with whores."He said thoughtfully, and I stiffened beside him.
Yes, I'm aware of Xavier's past, he hasn't been silent about it, but that little comment still struck a nerve.
"What we have is more than that, and I highly doubt that you're trying to insinuate that I'm a whore." My voice had a snippy edge to it now.
Christian raised his hands in surrender, giving me a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Didn't mean to offend you love. Just stating facts." He murmured.
I didn't respond, just walked down the stairs where Amelia was waiting.
"You ready?" The smile on her face slowly died as she saw the expression on mine, and then saw her brother walking behind me.
"Chrissy. What did you say to her?" Amelia asked, her body going rigid and her arms folding across her chest.
Shit. When my best friend got like this, it was hard to calm her down and s**t could go ugly fast.
"It's fine Mi Mi. Let's go get some food. I'm starved." I said, prying her folded arms open and grabbing one of them.
"Am I still invited to tag along?" Christian asked nonchalantly.
Amelia looked at me incredulously, before she pinned hard eyes on her brother.
"No you're f*****g not. You hurt my best friend's feelings and expect to still be invited? I know you're not that f*****g sense." Amelia spits, and Christian's rolled his eyes.
"It's not my fault she's too sensitive to handle the truth."
I could feel the blood in my veins boil and my palm burned with the itch to smack him across the face.
God, such good looks wasted on a f*****g tool.
"Piss off, Christian. Stop being bitter because Xavier got the girl you wanted... Oh, you think I didn't notice how you were looking at her that day? I saw, everyone f*****g did. But I would've been dammed if I let my best friend get with someone like you. I love you Christian, you're my brother, but the way you treat women is deplorable, and I'd never subject my best friend to that. At least with Bubba, I can trust him to do the right thing, and not play with my best friend's heart for fun. And best believe I will be telling Xavier that you're harassing his girl and we both know he won't be happy about it. Now leave us alone." Amelia pulled me away, out of the door and towards Brent, her driver.
"Good morning Miss Amelia, Miss Olivia." He opened the door to a luxury SUV, and I climbed in first, murmuring a quiet good morning.
Amelia climbed in behind me, muttering something that made Brent shake his head and laugh.
"Let's go get some food. I'm starved." She said, rubbing her tummy And making me laugh.
Like I said, my best friend is crazy.
———————————————
The car stopped in front of a country club, and I cut my eyes at Amelia who grinned sheepishly.
"Mi Mi...."
"I know, I know, but they have the best breakfast buffet ever! Their breakfast muffins and eggs are to die for. Not to mention they serve sangrias and mimosas." She pouted, looking up at me with puppy dog eyes and I sighed.
"Fine. But you owe me." I mumbled, making her squeal.
Brent opened the door for us, and we made our way into the dining area of the country club.
While we were waiting to be seated, I took a cursory glance around the dining room, and I felt my breath completely stop for a f*****g moment.
My heart squeezed tightly in my chest, and I dug my nails into my palm to keep myself grounded.
Xavier was here. A smile on his face with a girl's hand rested on his.
"Livy what's wrong? Why are you- Oh f**k no." My eyes swung to Amelia, but she was already halfway across the dining area, making a beeline straight towards her brother.
Fuck.
I ran after her.
"Amelia!" I yelled, trying to catch up, but goddamn the b***h moves fast.
Xavier looked up, and his eyes widened when he saw his sister barreling towards him with me close behind her.
Before I could stop her, she was at the table, and she picked up the jug of sangria that was on the table and emptied it onto her brother's head.
"You f*****g bastard!" She screamed.
The girl gasped in shock, jumping up and trying to defend Xavier, only to get b***h slapped across the face by my best friend.
"Amelia!" She turned to me, breathing hard, her eyes cold.
"Stop." I murmured, pulling her closer to me and away from them.
I saw Xavier over her shoulder, but he was expressionless, of course.
"I love you Mi Mi, but you really shouldn't have done that." I said softly, letting her pull me into a hug.
"f**k that Livy. I should've known not to let you get close to him. All the men in my family seem to be f*****g bastards who don't know how to treat a woman!" She shouted, making some of the patrons gasp.
We were quite a spectacle.
"Amelia. Olivia. Come with me." Xavier said calmly.
He had tried to dry the spilled drink with his jacket, but it didn't really help.
"We're not going anywhere with you, you f*****g wanker! God I'm so f*****g embarrassed to even call you my brother right now." Amelia was seething mad, and it was hard to calm her down when she got like this.
But goddammit, she was shouting in my ear!
She refused to let go of me, instead keeping an arm wrapped around me, like I would disappear in thin air.
"Amelia. Calm down. You're causing a scene." I mumbled.
"Well, I don't give two flying f***s! The nosy fucktards could stare all they want!"
Lord have mercy.
"Amelia. That is enough. Let's go, now." Xavier growled lowly, his iced blue eyes stern with a warning.
"C'mon Mi Mi. Let's go." I murmured softly, not bothering to spare Xavier a glance.
My heart felt like it had been f*****g cut open, and I don't know why.
Amelia refused to budge, and I tried pulling her, but she never moved, keeping her eyes trained on her brother.
"Stay the f**k away from my best friend. You don't f*****g deserve her." She said lowly.
"Don't tell me what to do, Amelia, especially when it concerns her." He snapped.
They both began to argue back and forth, drawing even more attention to us. I sighed, having enough of both siblings for the day. I pried Amelia's fingers from my waist, and walked away.
I pulled out my phone, calling myself an Uber. When it came, I jumped in without looking back, and made my way back to London.
Fuck this s**t.
